**THIS POSITION IS TO WORK ONBOARD
The Learning and development manager will partner with the senior officers on board to lead and oversee the training and learning culture on board. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among shipboard staff. Learning and Development Managers will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing training programs that enhance the skills and capabilities of our crew members, ensuring compliance with industry standards and corporate policies. Learning and Development Managers are to model The Celebrity Way and will be held accountable to build and cultivate a high-performance culture, empowering team’s growth and development and fostering a high sense of team engagement and recognition. Additionally, the role involves providing career coaching, public speaking, training creation, onboarding, ad hoc training, promoting service excellence, and handling administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Engagement: Strengthen crew engagement and morale through effective communication, recognition, and reward initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure full adherence to employment laws and industry standards while fostering a culture of compliance.
- Business Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to shipboard leaders, providing guidance to improve performance and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Talent & Leadership Development: Coach and develop crew members and identify future leaders through targeted development programs.
- Inclusive Culture: Promote psychological safety, diversity, and respect across all shipboard teams.
- Training Delivery: Facilitate training programs for senior leaders, officers, and crew.
- Career Development: Provide career coaching, manage the onboard career pipeline, and support leadership growth through mentorship.
- Public Speaking: Deliver impactful presentations and workshops on development-related topics.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Track training effectiveness and ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Support: Offer ongoing coaching to enhance crew performance and career progression.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Learning & Development, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Prior shipboard leadership experience highly preferred.
- Strong background in Learning & Development or Organizational Design within luxury hospitality, cruise, or corporate environments.
- Skilled public speaker with experience delivering presentations and workshops.
- Proven success in coaching and developing senior leaders.
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles, coaching, mentoring, and training methodologies.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to partner effectively at all organizational levels.
- Passion for continuous learning with the ability to communicate business priorities and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and adaptable to new systems.
