Position Overview: The Curriculum, Learning, and Teaching Specialist (CLTS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the development and delivery of high-quality curriculum across our programs. The CLTS works closely with Department Heads (DHs), Curriculum Development Managers (CDMs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Faculty to design, maintain, and evaluate curriculum that meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and student needs.
As part of the Curriculum, Learning, and Teaching team, the CLTS is responsible for coaching faculty, managing curriculum projects, and ensuring that educational practices align with the best pedagogical approaches. The role is ideal for a professional passionate about educational design excellence, innovation, and supporting faculty development in diverse teaching environments (face-to-face, online, and hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Design & Development:
- Collaborate with DH/CDM, SMEs, and Faculty to design, develop, and refine curriculum based on best practices, industry feedback, and regulatory requirements.
- Align program and course learning outcomes with competencies and standards.
- Develop clear, measurable learning outcomes and assessment strategies.
- Create engaging, evidence-based learning resources, activities, and assessments that meet academic rigor and inclusivity standards.
- Ensure effective integration of learning technologies and resources to support student success.
Faculty Support & Development:
- Provide ongoing coaching to faculty on best teaching strategies, learning technologies, and curriculum materials.
- Lead new faculty onboarding, introducing them to learning management systems and essential teaching tools.
- Offer resources and guidance to help faculty enhance their teaching practices.
Project Management & Implementation:
- Oversee and manage curriculum development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Contract and manage SMEs for curriculum reviews and revisions.
- Monitor and track curriculum projects, ensuring quality control and alignment with program objectives.
- Organize and maintain curriculum materials in cloud storage and learning management systems.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
- Gather and analyze feedback from faculty and students to continuously improve curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Conduct peer reviews of curriculum materials to ensure consistency and quality.
- Contribute to annual program reviews and accreditation processes.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
- Work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Officer and other departments to ensure all curriculum content adheres to accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in curriculum design, development, or delivery within an adult education environment OR an adult education credential with 3+ years of experience.
- Strong background in instructional design models, learning theories, and best practices.
- Experience with curriculum/course design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction.
- Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and guide faculty.
- Technologically proficient with a strong understanding of learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Collaborate), and educational technologies (e.g., Camtasia, Canva, Lumi).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a typing speed of 45+ WPM.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
