THE DIVISION
The IT Division brings together Portfolio & Project Management, Architecture & Data, Security, Platforms and Operations to define, deliver, support and continuously improve technology services across the firm. The division plays a critical role in enabling the firm’s strategic objectives, ensuring that technology is secure, reliable, scalable and aligned to business need.
Working in close partnership with colleagues across the business, the IT Division is responsible for shaping technology direction, delivering change, maintaining resilient day-to-day services, and driving innovation and continuous improvement. Together, these functions ensure the firm can operate effectively, respond to evolving client and regulatory expectations, and make best use of technology and data to support excellent service delivery.
THE ROLE
The IT Training Lead is responsible for owning the firm’s IT training strategy and ensuring colleagues have access to clear, consistent and relevant technology training.
The role sets the approach for IT training across the firm, including training standards, delivery mechanisms, training materials, third-party delivery and ongoing quality management. It works closely with stakeholders across divisions to understand training needs and ensure delivery is practical and role-appropriate.
Working in partnership with the Learning and Development Team in HR, the role helps align IT training with the firm’s wider professional development approach and oversees the effective management of external and internal training providers.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
IT Training Strategy & Ownership
- Define, own and maintain the firm’s IT training strategy, aligned to the firm and IT Strategies
- Set standards for IT training design, delivery, quality and continuous improvement
- Maintain an IT training roadmap covering new systems, refresher training and skills development
Training Quality, Standards & Effectiveness
- Own the quality framework for IT training, including objectives, materials, delivery standards and feedback
- Use feedback, attendance data and stakeholder input to review and improve training
- Keep IT training current with system, process, policy and security changes
Training Delivery, Channels & Third-Party Management
- Define appropriate delivery channels, including classroom, virtual, self-service, on-demand and floorwalking support
- Own third-party and internal IT training delivery, including supplier briefing, materials review and quality management
- Work with project, change, platforms and operations teams to plan training for technology change
- Maintain a training calendar covering new initiatives, BAU needs, refresher activity and targeted support
Stakeholder Engagement & L&D Alignment
- Engage stakeholders across divisions to understand role-specific IT training needs
- Work closely with the Learning and Development Team in HR to align IT training with professional development
- Be visible across the firm’s offices, providing in-person support and building strong local relationships
- Build and support a network of champions across the firm to reinforce learning and adoption
- Position IT training as a core part of development for all roles across the firm
Continuous Improvement & Learning Culture
- Develop reusable training materials, guidance, knowledge resources and learning pathways
- Promote continuous learning, innovation and practical technology adoption across the firm
SKILL SET
Experience & Training Leadership
- Experience leading IT training, technology adoption and digital learning programmes
- Experience defining training strategies, delivery plans, learning standards and quality frameworks
- Experience managing third-party training providers and reviewing supplier materials
- Experience working with Learning and Development, HR, change, project and technology teams
Learning Design, Delivery & Technology Adoption
- Strong understanding of adult learning and blended delivery methods
- Ability to turn technology, system and process changes into clear learning content and deliver it online and in person
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365, document management, collaboration tools and legal systems
Quality, Governance & Measurement
- Experience setting training quality standards and reviewing learning content
- Ability to define practical measures for training activity and impact
- Awareness of accessibility, inclusion, information security and compliance considerations
Communication & Influence
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to explain technology clearly to non-technical audiences
- Confidence to influence, challenge constructively and align priorities
