The Senior Learning Design Professional uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Senior Learning Design Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Learning Design Professional analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes facilitator guides, scripts, use case scenarios, performance support, mobile learning and process documents.
- Plans, organizes, and collaborates on developing training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Begins to influence department's strategy.
- Coordinates and facilitates all aspects of training programs for participants throughout the organization, including but not limited to instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training. Knows how to use system platform and collaborative tools to facilitate learning.
- Travels to various states to facilitate and conduct statewide trainings.
- Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.
- Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.
- Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
- Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to facilitating trainings with markets.
Required Qualifications

- Associate degree in any field
- Minimum 1 year Utilization Management such as, FER, Concurrent, Prior Authorization
- Exposure to Behavioral Health including working knowledge and/or degree
- Minimum 1 year of training or learning development experience.
- Intermediate/Advanced typing and computer navigation skills using multiple systems, platforms, and an ability to troubleshoot and resolve general technical difficulties
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Adobe PDF
- Experience with learning strategies and adult learning theories
- Understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Learning and Performance; Education, Social Worker, LPC, mental or behavioral health
- Microsoft Project experience
- Experience using a wide variety of training tools to effectively facilitate to a wide audience
- Experience managing projects or processes
- Work experience in a health care and / or insurance setting
- Experience in care management or behavioral health
- Certified in MHFA, Trauma informed Care or Suicide Prevention, (QPR), trainings, and Bounce training

Workstyle: Remote Work at Home and with combination travel to perform training
Locations: US
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time
- Typical work schedule is in Eastern Time Zone with flexibility depending on the state where training is being facilitated.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$69,800 - $96,200 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
