Instructional Designer - Trust & Safety
Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced
Instructional Designer to design and develop high-quality digital learning solutions within a Trust & Safety environment.
This role focuses on creating
scalable, engaging, and measurable e-learning experiences that enhance learner retention, knowledge transfer, operational readiness, quality performance, and compliance awareness.
You will collaborate closely with Training & Quality leads, subject matter experts, operational stakeholders, and LMS/platform owners to translate complex policies, processes, and business requirements into effective learning journeys, interactive courses, and assessments.
This is a
hands-on role for someone who combines strong instructional design expertise with practical e-learning development skills and understands how learning supports operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Design & Curriculum Development
- Design engaging digital learning experiences that support retention and on-the-job application
- Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy, adult learning theory)
- Translate complex Trust & Safety topics, policies, workflows, and compliance requirements into clear learning solutions
E-Learning Development & Authoring
- Develop interactive e-learning content using tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise)
- Create storyboards, scripts, wireframes, simulations, assessments, and branching scenarios
- Build learner-friendly modules from raw content, policy documentation, and SME input
- Produce multimedia assets (video, animation, audio) using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Vyond
- Develop reusable templates and maintain consistency across learning platforms
LMS & Learning Pathways
- Support LMS setup, testing, publishing, and version control
- Ensure compatibility with standards such as SCORM and xAPI
- Design onboarding, refresher training, certification, and upskilling pathways
- Partner with platform owners to optimise the learner experience
Assessment & Learning Effectiveness
- Design quizzes, knowledge checks, and scenario-based assessments
- Align assessments with business objectives, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Measure learning effectiveness using frameworks such as Kirkpatrick
Learning Analytics & Governance
- Maintain documentation (storyboards, content trackers, version history, decision logs)
- Ensure content remains accurate, compliant, and easy to maintain
- Use learning data to improve content and performance outcomes
Stakeholder Management & Delivery
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the full learning lifecycle (analysis to evaluation)
- Translate business needs into effective learning solutions
- Manage timelines, feedback loops, and priorities in an agile environment
- Communicate progress clearly and take ownership of delivery
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in instructional design, digital learning, or learning technology
- Proven experience in designing and developing e-learning solutions in fast-paced environments
- Strong background in curriculum design, learning journeys, and assessment strategies
- Hands-on experience with Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise) or similar tools
- Experience creating LMS-ready content (SCORM, xAPI)
- Experience developing multimedia content (video, animation, interactive learning)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles
- Ability to write clear scripts, learner content, and assessments
- Strong visual design and storyboarding skills
- Ability to analyse learning data and apply insights
- Strong project documentation and version control capabilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Trust & Safety, compliance, risk, or operational environments
- Experience with learning analytics or reporting tools
- Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic knowledge of HTML5/CSS
- Experience with AI-supported learning tools
- Experience creating blended learning (e-learning + workshops, coaching, job aids)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Equivalent professional experience is acceptable
- Additional certifications in instructional design, e-learning development, or learning technology are a plus
