L&D Business Partner
Reporting to: HR Director
The Opportunity
This is a high-autonomy role designed for an ambitious L&D professional ready to take full ownership of a function. Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will have the creative freedom and budget ownership to shape the learning and development strategy for Ryman - a heritage high street brand and part of the Theo Paphitis Retail Group.
If you have solid experience in a fast-paced L&D team and are looking for a platform where you can build, rather than just maintain, this is your next step.
Key Responsibilities
As a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Trading, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, you will bridge skills gaps, elevate leadership capability, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Design, write, and deliver end-to-end leadership and management programmes, facilitating both face-to-face workshops and virtual training sessions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct learning needs analyses and implement commercially grounded solutions.
- Work alongside HR Business Partners to create clear, structured development pathways for colleagues across the business.
- Manage and maximize our Learning Management System (LMS), creating high-quality digital content, facilitator guides, and participant resources.
- Oversee and continuously elevate our induction processes for new starters and newly appointed managers.
- Use data and business metrics to evaluate training effectiveness, manage external providers, and ensure all learning aligns with our safety and compliance strategies.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong L&D experience, ideally within a fast-paced retail, logistics, or multi-site environment, with a track record of landing key deliverables.
- Ability to align training initiatives directly with broader business objectives and performance.
- Experience managing digital learning environments, maximizing LMS platforms, and engaging virtual learners.
- Highly self-motivated, with the confidence to challenge the norm and manage your own workload independently.
- Willingness to undertake occasional nationwide travel to deliver hands-on workshops across our multi-site teams.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, company pension (with enhancement options), and a referral scheme.
- Generous holiday allowance plus an extra wellbeing day to recharge.
- Tailored training, structured career progression, and funded apprenticeship programmes.
- Exclusive discounts across all group brands (Ryman, Robert Dyas, Boux Avenue), Cycle2Work scheme, and access to mental health first aiders and wellness support.
- A collaborative team with recognition awards and regular social events.
