Schedule: Full-time preferred; part-time or fractional arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates. In-office presence required.
Contract Duration: Initial anticipated engagement of approximately three to six months, subject to business needs and performance.
Compensation: $40 – $60 per hour
Start Date: Immediate availability strongly preferred.

Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking a hands-on Manager, Training & Development to help build the foundation for CARIAN University, our internal learning and development platform. This role will support the design, development, organization, and implementation of training programs that strengthen employee capability, manager effectiveness, compliance readiness, onboarding consistency, and professional development.
This is a builder role. The ideal candidate can take broad direction and turn it into practical curriculum, training modules, LMS content, learning paths, templates, and rollout plans. The role requires strong instructional design instincts, practical business judgment, and the ability to work with leadership, HR, subject matter experts, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the buildout of CARIAN University, including learning paths, course structure, content standards, and rollout planning.
- Develop training materials, course outlines, facilitator guides, job aids, and LMS-ready content.
- Help design supervisor training, manager training, onboarding curriculum, compliance training coordination, and professional development programs.
- Partner with HR, leadership, operations, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and priorities.
- Convert business requirements and leadership expectations into practical training content.
- Organize learning content within the LMS and support course assignment, tracking, and reporting.
- Create training content that is clear, professional, practical, and aligned to CARIAN’s culture and business needs.
- Support the development of training calendars, communication plans, and completion tracking.
- Identify gaps in current training materials and recommend practical improvements.
- Help establish repeatable standards for future training development and administration.
- Support leadership and manager development initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in training, learning and development, instructional design, organizational development, HR development, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience building training programs, curriculum, LMS content, and employee learning materials.
- Experience with TalentLMS or similar learning management systems preferred but not required.
- Strong writing, organization, facilitation, and content development skills.
- Ability to work with executives, managers, HR, and subject matter experts.
- Strong PowerPoint, Word, and learning content development skills.
- Experience with supervisor training, manager training, compliance training, onboarding, or leadership development preferred.
- Professional services, consulting, utility, engineering, construction, or technical services experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, organize ambiguity, and create practical deliverables quickly.
- Comfortable working in-office and supporting a fast-moving business environment.

Compensation
The hourly rate range for this temporary / fixed-term W-2 contract role is $40 – $60 per hour. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting; actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The initial anticipated engagement is approximately three to six months, subject to business needs and performance. This temporary role is not eligible for CARIAN’s regular full-time employee benefits, except as required by applicable law.
