Tesla is seeking a highly capable Instructional Designer to join the Learning & Development team and help shape impactful, scalable learning experiences across the business. This role will be responsible for designing engaging learning solutions that support capability growth, operational excellence, and employee development across multiple markets and functions. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design expertise with creativity, visual design capability, business understanding, and a modern approach to adult learning.
In this role, you will not only design effective virtual, web-based, and video e-Learning courses, as well as instructor-led sessions, but also drive the Learning & Development (L&D) agenda to propel business growth. You will serve as a strategic advisor and go-to expert on internal processes, systems, and knowledge, collaborating on cross-functional, high-priority projects that deliver significant organizational impact. This individual must quickly grasp EMEA priorities, craft clear, concise, and targeted messaging, and partner with local teams to deliver educational materials that advance L&D initiatives and influence broader business outcomes.
At the forefront of innovative multimedia content creation across Sales & Delivery-focused learning programs, you will support the development of customer-facing team members, and own training strategies for new markets. This includes video content, systems training, guides, e-learning, web development and more. Working strategically with the Learning & Development Manager, L&D Project Manager, EMEA Training Coordinator, L&D Regional Partners, and diverse stakeholders, you will identify training needs, develop customized content, and foster a streamlined feedback loop between HQ and the field to enable continuous performance improvements. What You'll Do
Lead Design and Development: Build high-quality e-learning courses, training decks, guides, and blended learning journeys video, and self-paced learning solutions for all field Sales & Delivery roles across EMEA, ensuring alignment with Tesla brand standards and business objectives. Lead Learning Principles: Apply learning science, adult learning principles, and evidence-based methodologies. Drive L&D Agenda and Business Impact: Champion the L&D strategy to advance organizational goals, including identifying opportunities to integrate learning initiatives with broader business priorities and measuring their impact on performance metrics. Own High-Impact Projects: Manage and lead multiple instructional design projects from inception to completion, including course outlines, scripts, and assessments, translating business needs into clear learning outcomes and practical solutions while adapting to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment. Content Creation & User Experience: Develop visually engaging learning assets using strong design principles, ensure content is intuitive, modern, clear, and learner-centered, improve learner engagement through storytelling, interactivity, and structured flow, maintain consistency across templates, branding, and learning standards. Stakeholders Management: Partner with project managers, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams on high-priority initiatives to fully understand business needs and deliver tailored learning solutions that drive efficiency and innovation. Assess and Measure Success: Develop task-based assessments aligned with predefined learning objectives, and establish training metrics to evaluate program effectiveness before, during, and after implementation, using data to inform continuous improvements.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in instructional design and/or education including roles in L&D strategy and high-impact projects. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in instructional design tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Graphic design and/or Premiere Pro skills are a plus); familiarity with web development (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint) and learning management systems for maintaining and updating course materials. Learning Expertise: Deep knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and strategies for creating engaging, multimedia content. Leadership and Strategic Skills: Strong project management, self-management, and multitasking abilities, with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, driving strategic initiatives, and serving as an expert advisor on processes and systems. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional abilities in communication, problem-solving, relationship-building, and conveying complex ideas simply, with a passion for innovation and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
