The Global Design & Curation Area of Practice provides expertise and collaboration to design & curate large scale, cutting-edge, high impact and sustainable learning experiences for all customer segments at Roche, supporting the agile ways of working and learning and supporting Roche’s 2030 Ambitions. The position of Leading Expert for Global Leadership and People Development is part of the Global Design & Curation Area of Practice.
Position Summary
As a Global Learning Experience Design Lead for Leadership and People Development you translate business strategies and needs into innovative learning & development experiences such as capability development programs and events for leaders and employees at all levels in the enterprise, people and performance practices including the appropriate integration of ways of learning & developing, technology, systems & tools for supporting self-authoring growth.
Your are a visionary L&D Architect and systems thinker specialized in orchestrating Human-AI learning ecosystems. Proven track record in leveraging Generative AI and Predictive Analytics to scale personalized leadership development globally, while maintaining a fierce commitment to human centered learning design and agile fluidity in complex matrix environments.
You work across the enterprise with a strategic and global approach, closely along the business and the People & Culture strategies. You are either part of and / or you are leading global, cross-cultural work product teams and squads following agile methodologies with co-creation as a working principle. The design and curation of leadership and people development solutions are made from a global perspective supporting the company’s 10-year-ambitions, strategic directions and business needs with a sense for cultural and regional adaptation and ensuring a great customer learning and development experience. You think and act in alignment with the people development, leadership development, organization development and Inclusion & Belonging strategies as well as the business strategies and customer needs and you actively involve, include and partner with multiple stakeholders and relevant parties in the design & curation architecture process.
Your opportunity
- Strategic Capability Scaling: Architect and contribute to the global harmonization of designed & curated learning & development and practices and experiences while aligning them with People & Culture and business needs towards the company’s 2030-year-ambitions
- AI-Driven personalization and human centered design at scale: Seek opportunities for innovation, inspiration and value creation and sense needs and future trends while being open to experimenting and following agile ways of working and new ways of learning and development
- Translate business needs, insights and strategies to great learner and customer experience: Design & curate global learning experiences for various customer segments (employees, leaders at all levels, multipliers), e.g. leadership development programs and global people L&D related processes, practices and opportunities, including platforms and tools
- Lead design & curation initiatives for multiple expertise areas, e.g. agility and leadership for high performing organization, and making them accessible for a broad audience and direct to various learning and development experiences, with high focus on behavioral design and impact on behavioral change
- Act as thought leader in the areas of leadership and people development, staying updated on market trends and being competent in key models and frameworks. Participate in and lead work product teams and squads to deliver on prioritized work, analyze and identify customer needs and requests, translating them into the appropriate action from an end-to-end perspective
- AI-Accelerated Tech Adoption: Data-Driven Ecosystem Optimization for measurable drivers of leadership and employee engagement. Following the design thinking approach including needs / gaps analysis, content & testing design, methodologies & technologies decision and metrics definition from and with an end-to end perspective, as well as accelerated time-to-competency and learning in the flow of work
- Ensure End-to-End thinking and approaches, including diagnosing and sustainable success measurement, knowledge and solution sharing and connect it with appropriate supporting tools, e.g. internal and external learning platforms, content sharing tools
- Connect and build internal relationships with relevant Areas of Practice, Communities and other Chapters as well as various customers and stakeholders in the business
- Build and maintain external relationships with others in similar disciplines in other organisations, e.g. vendors and design consultants
- Coach and mentor other experts and P&OG colleagues as required to continuously build capability in the chapter
Who You Are
With a Master’s degree in a relevant field (HR, Adult Learning, or Psychology), you bring deep expertise in Organizational Development and a 'digital-first' mindset. You are experienced in navigating the intersection of Human-Centric Design and AI-augmented learning ecosystems. Your background includes leading large-scale, tech-enabled development initiatives and using predictive people analytics to shape global people and leadership development roadmaps in a rapidly evolving corporate landscape.
Your Further Qualifications Are
- Strong experience across different business and geographic and cultural environments
- Broad expertise and experience in developing leadership and people development strategies including Inclusion & Belonging aspects
- Deep knowledge and broad experience as design lead for inclusive development experiences (self-paced, virtual and classroom), processes, large scale leadership events, curating and directing complex content for various customer segments and various stakeholder management experiences, especially with regards to the global senior leadership audience
- Broad and deep knowledge and experience of agile principles and methodologies applied in an enterprise-wide context as well as instructional design expertise
- Experience with agile and technology-enabled learning and development solutions, demonstrated experience in working in and leading agile and design thinking teams
- Expertise in AI-augmented instructional design (ID). This includes using Large Language Models (LLMs) for rapid content prototyping, automated localization, and creating "synthetic" personas for leadership role-playing and digital product development and collaboration platforms
- Proven project and senior stakeholder management skills in a complex and matrix environment, advanced negotiation and influencing skills and decision making competencies
- Demonstrated courage and ability to face into ambiguous situations, risk-taking and experimenting, initiating change and creating innovative solutions while questioning the status quo
- Strategic and system thinking skills and experience in translating strategies into learning and development experiences
- Proven communication skills, fluent English language skills, other languages a plus
Location: While this is a global mandate, the position is HQ-based in Basel, requiring a consistent presence at our primary hub.
Global Grading, depending on candidate`s experience between 7 - 8.
