**THIS POSITION IS TO WORK ONBOARD
The Learning and Development (L&D) Consultant serves as a strategic partner responsible for designing and delivering development programs for shipboard employees across all levels. The role covers end-to-end learning support—from needs analysis to planning and execution—to improve performance, productivity, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
The position collaborates closely with land-based teams (Learning & Organizational Development, Operational Leaders, Regional HR Directors/Business Partners, Talent Management) and shipboard leaders (Executive Committee and Department Heads).
Additional duties may be assigned as needed, and all responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with the company’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior shipboard leadership, driving leadership development, change management initiatives, and alignment to company strategy and brand standards.
- Lead talent management processes, including performance assessments, development planning, succession planning, and career coaching to strengthen individual and team capability.
- Conduct needs assessments and on‑the‑job observations to identify performance gaps, recommend solutions, and improve crew satisfaction, guest satisfaction, and key business KPIs.
- Design and deliver impactful learning experiences, including leadership training, customized development sessions, and train‑the‑trainer programs to ensure effective knowledge transfer and operational excellence.
- Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to onboard leaders, promoting continuous improvement, effective feedback practices, accountability, and a culture of learning and high performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in L&D, Business, HR, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Learning & Organizational Development within a hotel, cruise line, or corporate environment.
- Strong background in adult learning, coaching, mentoring, and training techniques.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to work diplomatically across diverse teams and leadership levels.
- Passion for continuous learning, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence and gain support.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, able to multitask in a fast‑paced multicultural setting.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and comfortable learning new systems.
Language Requirements:
- Must speak English clearly and confidently, including in front of groups of all sizes.
- Must read and write English fluently to interpret procedures and produce high‑level reports, documents, presentations, and written communication.
