We’re excited to be partnering with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) to recruit an experienced Learning & Development Manager for a fantastic standalone opportunity to shape and modernise JRF’s learning culture and bring their People Plan to life.
In this pivotal role, you’ll design and deliver creative, high-impact L&D initiatives for a diverse workforce of around 160 colleagues. From leadership and management development to policy design, talent planning, and leveraging the Apprenticeship Levy, you’ll have the freedom to build something meaningful and lasting.
We’re looking for an L&D professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, someone confident managing multiple workstreams, engaging stakeholders, and driving a culture of continuous learning and inclusion.
Key initial focuses (the role will broaden over time):
- Manager development: Lead delivery of management and leadership training aligned to the new People Manager Charter.
- Organisation-wide learning: Partner with managers to identify development needs and implement engaging, innovative learning solutions.
- Mandatory training: Oversee completion and compliance across JRF.
- Impact and evaluation: Design processes to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning options.
- L&D framework: Review and refresh all L&D policies and processes to ensure they’re fit for purpose and future-ready.
About You:
- A proven track record of delivering a broad range of L&D initiatives
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple workstreams
- Strategic and operational agility, comfortable shifting between big-picture thinking and hands-on delivery
- Expertise in evaluating learning effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- A creative and innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
