Our challenge
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to develop data products, dashboards, and analytical solutions that enhance data utilization across departments. This role involves transforming complex datasets into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alberta is CAD $100,000 – CAD $110,000/year & benefits (see below). This a majority remote role with the candidate needing to travel to the clients office in Edmonton 1-4 times per month. This role is a Full-time permanent role but may be sub-contracted if preferred.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements for analytical solutions.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, forecasts, and insights.
- Create and optimize measures, calculated columns, and advanced DAX formulas.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and meaningful visualizations.
- Support data quality, consistency, and governance initiatives.
- Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuously improve data visualization and reporting processes.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hands-on Power BI experience, including advanced DAX.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets for trends and predictive insights.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and visualization best practices.
- Ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with multiple data formats and sources.
- Knowledge of data governance and quality principles.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
