Position Information
The purpose of this classification is to train new and existing employees regarding County policies, to coordinate the County's professional and personal development programs, and to administer the County's tuition assistance program.
Essential Functions
Conducts professional development and compliance training for employees and supervisors, both in person and virtually: facilitates sessions by outlining course objectives, delivering course content, encouraging participation; and assessing audience understanding and retention.
Administers tuition assistance program: processing and reviewing applications based on criteria; present applications to committee; calculate expenses and reimbursement rates; inform applicants of acceptance or rejection; process payments; and monitor grades and progress.
Develops programs and curriculum for the training needs of County employees and supervisors: researches a range of subjects, such as legal issues in management, employee supervision and motivation, equity programs, customer service, and conflict management; researches a range of subjects, such as legal issues in management; designs course content and materials, including course calendars; and coordinates and schedules programs.
Prepares various reports, promotional materials, and documents related to learning and development programs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in training or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Local, State Or Federal Government Experience Preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
