Job Summary
Overall Purpose:
The Manager within Learning and Development (L&D) is tasked with leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development and strategic training programs within our BOV academy and financial institution. This role demands a strategic thinker capable of identifying skill gaps related to strategic programmes being developed within the Bank. The L&D Manager will collaborate closely with various departments and subject matter experts to cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
- Conducting a Learning Needs Analysis with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs, including specific skills and knowledge requirements, learning objectives and target audience, to steer the development of relevant and effective training programmes, especially those related to leadership development and strategic themes.
- Developing comprehensive training programs utilising diverse instructional methods such as workshops, e-learning, coaching, and mentoring, tailored to accommodate different learning styles in areas related to leadership and the bank’s strategic programmes.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of L&D initiatives with organisational goals focused on leadership capabilities and strategic competencies.
- Delivering engaging training sessions or workshops as needed, employing effective techniques that resonate with participants.
- Sourcing, building and maintaining relationships with external training providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness, Return on Investment (ROI), and impact of training programmes.
- Analysing training trends and relevant metrics to inform decision-making; generating reports and ensuring accurate, effective data analysis for comprehensive HR metric reporting.
- Implementing Quality Assurance standards by addressing feedback, conducting quality control checks, and ensuring updates are made to maintain high standards in training delivery.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to ensure standardisation and a constant high level of service.
- Ensuring that all required information and data is captured on HR Systems accurately.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies and best practices in learning and development to continuously enhance content quality and effectiveness in leadership training.
In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Criteria:
Previous proven work experience of four (4) years in Learning and Development, Corporate Training or Talent Development, and an MQF Level 5 Award in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
OR
Previous proven work experience of five (5) years in Learning and Development, Corporate Training or Talent development.
OR
Previous proven work experience of two (2) years in Learning and Development, Corporate Training or Talent development, and an MQF Level 6 Degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous proven work experience of four (4) years in Learning and Development, Corporate Training or Talent Development, and an MQF Level 5 Award in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
An Award in Coaching; Previous proven work experience in a learning and development role within the financial services industry; Proven track record of designing and delivering successful training programmes.
