About The Position
The Head of Learning & Development plays a pivotal role in shaping the culture and talent readiness of Wynn Al Marjan Island. As a strategic partner to the Senior Vice President – People & Culture, this role is responsible for leading the design, digitalization, and execution of all learning initiatives during the pre-opening and opening phases. By embedding a culture of continuous learning, service excellence, and innovation, the Head of L&D ensures that every team member embodies the luxury standards of the Wynn brand. A key focus of the role is driving digital transformation of the function through the implementation of a state-of-the-art Learning Management System (LMS) that empowers scale, personalization, and measurable impact.
The Primary Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Are
- Shape the L&D Strategy: Lead the overarching learning and development strategy for the pre-opening and opening phases, ensuring alignment with business goals, luxury standards, and the People & Culture vision.
- Drive Cultural Transformation: Act as a custodian of Wynn’s service culture, embedding values and behaviors that support authenticity, excellence, and innovation.
- Learning Needs & Analytics: Conduct property-wide learning needs analyses and leverage data insights from the LMS to identify, prioritize, and address organizational capability gaps at scale.
- Digital Learning Ecosystem: Champion the digitalization of learning through a next-generation LMS, ensuring scalable delivery of personalized learning paths, mobile learning, and performance tracking.
- Innovative Learning Design: Oversee the design and delivery of engaging training solutions, including simulations, case studies, digital content, gamified modules, and immersive experiences.
- Leadership & Operational Excellence: Partner with department heads to develop technical, leadership, and customer-centric training that prepares large-scale teams for operational readiness.
- Organizational Development: Serve as an internal consultant to address broader talent and cultural development needs, supporting succession planning and leadership pipelines.
- Governance & Measurement: Establish clear metrics for learning effectiveness, compliance, and ROI; provide regular reporting and insights to the SVP People & Culture and executive leadership.
- People Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that reflects Wynn’s culture.
- Cross-Functional Representation: Represent Learning & Development in enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring learning is embedded as a strategic driver across all functions.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience managing learning strategies in large-scale organizations with strong exposure to complex and high-volume operations.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in learning, organizational development, or large-scale hospitality operations.
- 5+ years in a senior management capacity within luxury hospitality, gaming, or related industries.
- Experience with Leading Quality Assurance and Forbes Five-Star service training is a strong plus.
- Track record of leading digital learning transformation through LMS adoption and integration.
- Strong expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and innovative learning methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced, and complex environments.
- Professional presence, cultural sensitivity, and unwavering commitment to confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a pre-opening environment.
