Your role and responsibilities
You are our talented, creative, and passionate
Learning and Development Specialist who will play a key role in SIA’s success by engaging our talent and supporting their personal development & self-improvement, enabling them to perform and grow in the challenging field of technology consulting services.
This position pays $82,306 for 40 hours per week, on-site. However, if you value a balanced work schedule, you can work remotely for 32.5 hours per week spread over 5 days (fixed schedule of 6.5 hours per day with 1 day per week in the office).

You can tackle complex challenges, execute innovative growth & engagement strategies, and lead initiatives to enhance the employee experience and organizational outcomes.
The
Learning and Development Specialist is employee-focused and growth-oriented, with responsibilities that include:
Talent Engagement & Development
- Follow up with employees on training progression to ensure they stay current with requisite badges and certifications.
- Coordinate activities for preboarding and integration of new hires in collaboration with the HR Manager and the HR team.
- Manage the welcome (first day at the office), orientation (first 2 weeks), and onboarding (first 3 months) processes for new hires.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of professional development curriculums and learning paths.
Culture Engagement
- Coordinate, manage, host, follow up, and report on participation and results for our monthly, quarterly, and annual presentations and awards.
- Motivate employees to participate in our community engagement programs and social club activities, to network, and to promote SIA and their personal brand through different social media channels.
- Plan and execute corporate team-building activities, track and report on participation.
- Help develop and implement strategies and initiatives to increase employee engagement.
- Conduct engagement & culture surveys/self-assessments; develop, track, interpret, and report on results.
Performance Support
- Conduct weekly follow-ups with employees participating in our accelerated learning programs (FTA) to ensure sustained effort to complete training and earn predetermined badges and certifications.
- Address any issues impacting personal growth and self-improvement efforts (including training progression) and notify the HR manager about FTA program progression.
- Support and follow up on evaluations, including the reporting of KPIs, OKRs, utilization, efficiency, non-chargeable time, and competencies (badges and certifications).
- Cross train with the HR Specialist – Compensation & Well-being.
Desired skills and expertise
Ideal candidates will possess the following profile:
- University degree in HR, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in talent development and/or talent management.
- Experience coordinating and managing HR activities and events (both virtual and physical).
- Proficient with HR systems (BambooHR), courseware or learning management systems (TalentLMS or 360Learning) and office productivity tools (Office365, Slack, Box).
- Disciplined, organized, hands-on, detail oriented, analytical, and a creative problem-solver.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, bilingual, sociable, actively engaged in social networks.
- Patient, good listener, able to size people up and build strong peer relationships.
- Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high performance collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrates the highest degree of empathy, integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English: Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in both languages is required.
- Authorized to work & travel (for business & educational purposes) in Canada or the USA.
