Your role as Head of People
As Head of People, you will be broadly responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of strategic HR policies across all of our global offices, including the Netherlands, Turkey, the UK, the US, Brazil, and Australia.
You bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You're an experienced HR leader who can switch seamlessly between big-picture planning and day-to-day implementation.
Of course you will not do this alone - you will lead your 2 colleagues in the People team and work together with all heads of departments in the Leadership Team (LT).
Your Key Responsibilities
- Culture Development: Define, embed, and continuously strengthen MatchWornShirt’s culture to reflect our values and business goals.
- HR Strategy: Further develop and implement global HR strategies covering talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
- Employee Engagement: Design and roll out initiatives that boost engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Safeguard and strengthen our open and diverse culture — ensuring our policies, processes, and daily interactions support a respectful and fair environment for all colleagues
- Performance Management: Lead performance management cycles and advise managers on related issues.
- Learning and Development: Identify learning needs and implement programs to support employee growth and career progression.
- Employee Relations: Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, mediation, and disciplinary action as needed.
- HR Legal & Compliance: Oversee all legal and compliance matters related to HR across our global offices, including contracts, employment law, terminations, and policy implementation—ensuring local legislation is consistently met.
We are looking for the following candidate
- 8+ years of experience in a role as Head of People / HR or HR Director.
- Relevant HR experience in at least 2 of the countries MWS has an office.
- Living in or near the Amsterdam area.
- Fluent in both English and Dutch.
- Thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys contributing to a fast-evolving organisation.

Our procedure consists of the following rounds:
- Introductory video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager (± 20 min)
- Assessment and personality questionnaire (± 120 min)
- In-office interview round 1 (± 45-60 min)
- In-office interview round 2 (± 45-60 min)
Before the in-office interviews we request every candidate to complete a personality questionnaire, which gives us insight as to how your personality could add value to the team.
