The Senior Manager – Learning and Development plays a critical role in managing and coordinating the learning and development activities. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of learning solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals and workforce development objectives. The role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and experience in facilitating learning activities.
This role will report to the Director of Learning and Development. It may have additional
direct reports as the role evolves.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning Strategy and Planning:
• Support the development and implementation of learning strategies under the guidance of the Director of Learning and Development, ensuring alignment with the business goals.
• Assist in creating and executing annual learning plans, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business and are delivered on schedule.
Learning Delivery and Execution:
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and HR business partners to identify learning needs
in soft skills, technical skills, and professional development.
• Manage the delivery of learning activities, ensuring they are aligned with organizational
goals and delivered effectively through external facilitators, both virtually and in-person.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and facilitators, ensuring high-quality execution
and adherence to the standards.
• Ensure the smooth execution of learning activities, including workshops, eLearning, and
instructor-led training (ILT), by managing logistics, schedules, and participant engagement.
• Oversee the continuous improvement of learning delivery by gathering feedback from
participants and stakeholders and adjusting delivery methods where needed.
Learning Delivery:
• Facilitate both in-person and virtual learning activities, ensuring engaging and effective
experiences for participants, when required.
• Ensure that all learning activities comply with company standards, including health and
safety regulations.
Evaluation and Improvement:
• Implement assessments and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning
activities.
• Analyze feedback and data to recommend improvements and ensure the quality of learning
activities.
• Provide regular reports on learning outcomes, participation rates, and return on investment
to senior management.
Project Management:
• Lead learning development projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines,
budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring transparency and facilitating
future updates or modifications.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including managers and HR teams, to manage
expectations, gather requirements, and achieve project goals.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for learning and development activities, ensuring clear
communication and engagement with stakeholders.
• Ensure that learning interventions meet the needs of the business and align with the talent development objectives.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience (essential).
• Relevant certifications in learning and development, such as ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or CIPD Diploma in Learning and Development (desirable).
Experience:
• Experience managing and delivering learning activities in a multinational or large-scale organization (essential).
• Ability to analyze learning needs, design effective learning solutions, and deliver training that addresses skills gaps (essential).
• Skilled in both online and in-person facilitation of learning activities (desirable).
• Proven project management skills, including effective planning, execution, and tracking of learning initiatives (essential).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices for adult learning.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking, scheduling, and reporting learning activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders and delivering content. Fluent in English (essential), Arabic language skills (desirable).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with different teams.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
