Job Overview
As the Learning Center Director, you will assume a critical leadership role responsible for driving excellence in child development, early education, and family services. Collaborating closely with the Quality and Compliance Officer, you will work to uphold and achieve a minimum Step Up to Quality Level 5 Center, ensuring adherence to the standards set forth by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and other pertinent regulations. Your vision and strategic oversight will create a nurturing and secure environment for children, staff, and families alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the administrative operations of the Learning Center, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies set by the Board of Directors and relevant funding agencies in Ohio.
- Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance Director to coordinate and maintain adherence to licensing standards, focusing on the acquisition and renewal of childcare licensure.
- Manage daily operations of the center, ensuring comprehensive programming and curriculum development while planning engaging family events.
- Prepare and present regular verbal and written updates to the Chief Program Officer (CPO) regarding progress, challenges, and other key information.
- Collaborate with the management team to establish annual objectives that reflect the center’s vision and strategic goals.
- Develop and oversee the center’s annual budget in alignment with its strategic priorities, working alongside the Chief Development Officer (CDO) on grant applications.
- Lead the recruitment and management of early education staff, ensuring compliance with policies and providing effective training and support.
- Facilitate the use of various assessment tools to monitor and enhance children’s developmental progress.
- Conduct formal evaluations and observations of teaching staff and administrative associates to maintain high performance standards.
- Ensure proper staffing levels in classrooms and manage essential administrative tasks, including employee timesheets and tuition billing.
- Collaborate with the CPO to implement quality assurance initiatives, ensuring all staff members understand and commit to quality standards.
- Work with the Human Resources Director to uphold compliance with employment laws and regulations, assist with staffing solutions, and manage disciplinary actions.
- Maintain effective communication with families regarding center updates and activities, fostering strong community relationships.
- Handle sensitive records with professionalism and confidentiality, ensuring proper documentation practices are maintained.
- Attend required training sessions, meetings, and conferences to remain informed of industry trends and best practices.
- Partner with the Food and Nutrition Director to ensure that meals provided meet health and nutritional standards, promoting lifelong healthy habits among children.
- Deliver exceptional service to children, families, visitors, partners, and donors, representing the center positively in the community.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required.
- A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a childcare environment is preferred.
- Current certifications in Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease Management, and Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention, with renewals as required.
