Job Description
What you’ll do
Our success is reliant on bringing out the best in our people. We don’t just need to to hire the right talent. We need to train and motivate them the right way too. By bringing your generalist HR expertise, you’ll play a big part in making this happen.
Duties and tasks
– Work with the HRLT and Executive Director, HR & Communications creating solutions to people development challenges with specific focus on engaging and retaining talent and potential.
– Implement these solutions ensuring local HR are clear about their responsibilities. Work with the local HR Manager to direct the work of the local HR person responsible for Talent work.
– Manage the Growing Potential programme in its entirety and look to expand this development approach into the lower and middle management layers.
– Is instrumental in driving the move from individual performance to team performance in support of delivering the business strategy.
– Work with a network of coaches to provide coaching programmes appropriate to the various sites.
– Source learning solutions for identified groups of individuals, using both external learning providers or courses provided by De Beers and Anglo American.
– Oversee relationships with assessment and psychometric providers. Use these resources to support talent acquisition decisions and provide feedback that supports people development.
– Manage the work of the HR Talent Administrator.
Criteria skills
– Enjoys scanning the latest thinking in the Talent space and incorporating that thinking into practical in-house solutions. Will research and investigate a subject and then be able to use this knowledge to shape a learning and development solution that is appropriate for Element Six and individual sites.
– Thinks strategically and finds ways of using the talent agenda to support the wider aims of the business.
– Able to find creative or alternative solutions to a challenge; doesn’t just automatically provide the most obvious solution and is aware of cost vs benefits when implementing a solution.
– Able to network, engage and influence people at all levels – shop floor to Executive, external and internal.
– Has good self-awareness and great awareness and understanding of people.
– Has credibility with the leadership team and senior managers.
– Is on a mission to develop their own skills and knowledge in this space.
