Overall purpose and scope of the role:
- Create, implement and review the People Strategy
- Define career & development pathways for Shops & Head Office employees
- Lead reward & recognition initiatives for retaining Talent
- Oversee team engagement & retention KPIs
- Manage HR operations
- Upkeep HR policies and procedures
- Team leadership: Your direct reports will be managing HR, Recruitment & Health & Safety – whilst they will be handling the day-to-day, you will have experience in managing the broader spectrum of these fields to provide support, guidance and mentoring to them
- Accountability for all HR and L&D initiatives
- Provide guidance and support for the GMs and Ops on Training, HR and Recruitment matters
- Managing L&D and Reward & Recognition budgets
Main duties and responsibilities:
Developing People
- Conduct a thorough needs assessment to identify current skill gaps and future learning needs within the organisation
- Develop a long-term learning strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, mission, and strategic goals, ensuring that learning initiatives support business objectives
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for learning and development programs and regularly assess their impact on organisational performance
- Develop and review pathways for all employees across the company
- Establish ideal family trees to support stable teams
- Manage talent & succession planning to support growth and NSOs
- Ensure Development Meetings are carried out in Shops and in Head Office and that development plans are in place
- Use the apprenticeship levy to support development of our existing Managers and Head Office staff
- Lead the design and development of a range of training programs, workshops, and e-learning solutions that cater to various learning styles and organisational needs
- Ensure training content is relevant, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards and regulations
- Design and review training and development programmes to meet training and development needs
- Evaluate and recommend learning technologies, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools, to streamline training processes and improve learner engagement
- Implement and manage the LMS, ensuring it is utilised effectively and that employees have access to the necessary resources
- Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs, using feedback and analysis to inform program improvements
- Implement follow-up processes to measure knowledge retention and application of skills acquired through training
- Report on the impact of learning initiatives to senior leadership, making recommendations for enhancements based on findings
Talent Management
- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent
- Oversee performance management processes to ensure consistent and fair evaluations
- Ensure a competitive employee benefits package for staff, benchmarked to the market
- Advocate for a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organisation
- Create initiatives that promote skill-sharing, mentoring, and peer-to-peer learning among employees
Engaging our People & Culture
- Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas with solutions for areas that require improvement
- Develop and maintain the onboarding program for all employees
- Keep abreast of the latest technology available to engage with our team
- Champion initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Organising the Pure Quarterly
- Play a key role in making sure Pure’s values are lived through our teams
HR Operations
- Ensure that performance management, absence management, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness are being dealt with professionally and fully
- Promote a positive work environment by fostering open communication - recognising employee contributions and organising engagement initiatives to boost morale and motivation
HR Policies & Procedures
- Ensure all company policies, templates and procedures are up to date, in line with current employment law and that the line managers are up to date with changes to any policies
- Acting as first point of contact for all the shops queries via phone calls or email, providing guidance and support to Ops Managers with HR queries
- Integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into all learning programs and initiatives
- Ensure that training materials and practices are accessible and inclusive for all employees
- Promote awareness and understanding of DEI issues through targeted training and workshops
