LocalPeople Consulting is seeking an experienced Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) / OBIEE Trainer or Instructor to provide advanced, instructor-led training to an established Oracle Analytics development team supporting a large public-sector environment.
This is not an entry-level OAC training engagement and is not primarily a hands-on development role. The selected instructor will work with an experienced team of developers who are actively building and supporting Oracle Analytics solutions and are looking to strengthen their advanced semantic-modeling, RPD, and subject-area design skills.
Training Focus
The primary objective of this engagement is to provide advanced training around building PeopleSoft subject areas within the Oracle Analytics RPD / semantic layer.
A significant area of interest is understanding how to properly model measures that originate from multiple PeopleSoft physical tables, including situations where those tables may have different grains.
The training should help the development team understand how to evaluate and design:
- PeopleSoft-to-OAC subject areas
- Physical, Business Model and Mapping (BMM), and Presentation Layers
- Fact and dimensional modeling
- Fact table grain
- Logical Table Sources (LTS)
- Multiple physical sources supporting a logical fact
- Measures originating from multiple PeopleSoft tables
- When to use a single logical fact versus multiple facts with conformed dimensions
- Aggregation rules and content levels
- Hierarchies and dimensional navigation
- Drill-down and drill-through
- Calculations, formulas, KPIs, and reusable metrics
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Data validation and reconciliation back to PeopleSoft
- Dashboard design and data storytelling best practices
The team is particularly interested in understanding the architectural decisions behind semantic modeling rather than simply learning how to perform individual configuration steps.
Current Team Environment
The development team currently supports an enterprise Oracle Analytics environment used for operational and management reporting within a public-sector organization.
The team includes experienced developers working across Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle databases, reporting, data integration, and related Oracle technologies. Team members already have hands-on OAC experience and regularly develop reports, dashboards, subject areas, and analytical solutions.
The goal of this engagement is to help the team move beyond day-to-day development and develop a stronger understanding of advanced semantic-model architecture, dimensional modeling, and repeatable OAC development practices.
Training should therefore be designed for experienced technical staff rather than beginning OAC users.
Preferred Training Format
We are looking for live, instructor-led remote training rather than pre-recorded coursework.
The ideal instructor will be comfortable:
- Teaching interactively through Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or a similar platform
- Explaining advanced technical concepts clearly to experienced developers
- Whiteboarding architecture and modeling approaches
- Using hands-on demonstrations and practical examples
- Developing exercises or labs for the team
- Working through realistic PeopleSoft modeling scenarios
- Answering technical questions during training sessions
- Explaining not only how to implement a solution, but why a particular modeling approach is appropriate
We anticipate approximately 12–20 hours of live training, potentially delivered over several weeks. Additional preparation or follow-up mentoring may be considered depending on the instructor and proposed curriculum.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have significant hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)
- Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and/or Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)
- RPD / semantic-model development
- Physical, BMM, and Presentation Layer architecture
- Logical Table Sources
- Dimensional and fact modeling
- Aggregation and content levels
- Advanced calculations and measures
- Oracle SQL and relational database concepts
Strongly Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- PeopleSoft FSCM data models
- Building analytics subject areas from PeopleSoft data
- PeopleSoft Financials reporting
- Complex ERP semantic modeling
- Public-sector or government analytics environments
- Enterprise data warehousing
- Instructor-led Oracle training
- Corporate technical training
- Developing custom training materials, labs, or exercises
Instructor Experience
This engagement requires someone who can teach, not simply someone with strong OAC development experience.
Candidates should be prepared to discuss prior experience delivering:
- Instructor-led technical training
- Developer workshops
- Architecture sessions
- Corporate training
- Knowledge-transfer sessions
- Hands-on labs or mentoring programs
Previous Oracle University, corporate training, consulting training, or similar instructor experience is highly desirable.
Engagement Type
This is a remote independent contractor engagement with LocalPeople Consulting.
Training hours and schedule will be coordinated with the development team. We are open to discussing the appropriate training structure with the selected instructor based on their recommended curriculum and teaching approach.
