This position will play a pivotal role in creating, launching, and sustaining an enterprise-wide leadership development platform. Through defined competencies, employee-owned leadership development, and manager-supported measurement and sustainment, this role will help build extraordinary leadership and a robust talent pipeline at Ventura Foods.
- Leadership Development Curriculum Build: Design and develop innovative, competency-based learning solutions aligned to the 70/20/10 model. Build programs and solutions to develop all leaders across levels and functions with consistent behaviors and skills. Create differential developmental offerings and experiences for key talent. Select and leverage external vendor partners as needed.
- Leadership Development Program Execution: Facilitate learning through a variety of modalities, including live instructor-led training, virtual training, micro-learning, coaching/mentoring, etc. Work with SMEs and external vendor partners as needed. Communicate offerings and manage program participation, including nomination processes. Leverage external partners as needed.
- Learning and Development Strategy: Analyze and diagnose enterprise-wide leadership learning needs to validate, execute, and sustain a multi-year leadership development roadmap. Ensure close alignment with business and HR strategies and stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
- Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal business and HR teams to develop extraordinary leaders across the enterprise. Engage and influence senior leaders and their teams to build a culture of continuous earning and determine how L&D can help support their needs and initiatives. Collaborate with learning and development team members to ensure consistency in approach and solutions.
- Competency Framework: Build and maintain a toolkit to support our new leadership competency model, including individual development planning tools and resources.
- Assessment and Measurement:Assess leadership proficiency and measure the impact of leadership development programs on capabilities, behaviors, and business outcomes, including correlation to performance management and people planning process outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required with 7+ years progressive L&D experience, with most recently as a Corporate Learning & Development Manager or Director or similar position in training or talent.
- Direct experience building enterprise-wide (company-wide) leadership and professional development strategies and solutions, as well as influencing cross-functional partners to lead change in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
- Ability to travel 15%, in North America.
- Experience developing programs from scratch and comfortable working with "white space."
Comfortable using a variety of learning platforms and methods, including digital and blended learning.
Brea, CA is the preferred location (So. Cal), open to remote.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications in learning and development are a plus.
- Prior people leadership experience preferred.
- Food manufacturing or CPG industry experience is desired.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to formulate and deliver strategies that build a culture of learning and development.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal & written communication skills; effective executive presence and presentation skills.
- Teamwork: Create collaborative interactions among partners (internal and external) that generate new ideas and solutions.

- Results Driven: Strong project management skills, analytical, and has the ability to be proactive and prioritize against multiple projects and requests.
- HR/Learning & Development Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of HR and L&D disciplines and the talent lifecycle; extensive understanding of training methodologies, adult learning theories, learning technology, and measurement.
- The ideal candidate will be a creative, strategic, persuasive, and analytical leader and thinker with proven leadership and collaboration skills.

- Salary Base Range of $132,630.00 - $176,166.00 for Employees Located in California*
- Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.
