Job Summary
The
Director, Organizational Learning will own the development and execution of effective training and learning strategies that are aligned with the needs of the organization. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs that support company and business area initiatives.
The Director will apply instructional design and learning practices and utilize excellent facilitation skills to create and deliver effective in-person and online training programs. Additionally, this position will assess organizational needs and evaluate overall company learning efficacy.
Essential Functions
- Own and lead the design and implementation of the organizational learning vision, supporting the company's operational goals, compliance learning program, and ensuring appropriate workplace learning governance.
- Evangelize the organization's learning vision, programs, and processes to facilitate the creation and adoption of a continuous learning culture.
- Collaborate with business area leaders and SMEs to assess training needs, develop content, and enhance programs accordingly.
- Apply instructional design methodologies and principles of adult learning to develop and implement strategies for learning, incorporating leading-edge tools and technology to ensure an effective learning experience.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of new employee orientation and training programs for existing staff on company policies, processes, and tools.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and other SMEs to develop product training, consultative selling, and CRM tools training for company's field team.
- Lead the design and development of training support materials including participant guides, job aids, videos, eLearning, and activity materials.
- Establish and monitor metrics on program efficacy, adoption, participation, compliance requirements, and cost savings related to learning programs.
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of system hierarchy, content libraries and data within the company's Learning Management System (LMS) and collaboration platforms; ensure systems are compliant with internal policies and standards.
- Select, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage external learning vendor and supplier relationships.
- Manage and coach team members for role performance, career progression and skill development as needed (i.e., set goals, provide performance feedback, and conduct performance reviews).

Experience
- Instructional design, training, and facilitation of classroom and distance learning programs (10+ years).
- Development and facilitation of policy and process training (10+ years).
- Design and development of sales training and development programs (7+ years)
- Working on an HR team (7+ years).
- Using instructional design software.
- Implementation and management of company LMS and collaboration tool(s).
- Collaboration with and presentation to senior leadership.
- Managing purchased training services and suppliers.
- Managing 1-5 direct reports.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Ability to use consultative skills to provide subject matter expertise to leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong grasp of adult-learning theories and the ability to integrate related concepts into learning development strategies.
- Excellent small and large group facilitation and presentation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Litmos) and collaboration tools (e.g., SAP Jam).
- Ability to utilize common instructional design software (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, and Vyond).
- Proactively problem-solve and multitask while maintaining composure and attention to detail.

Education
Bachelor's degree in OD, Human Resources, I/O, Instructional Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced certifications in learning and performance methodologies, and/or OD preferred
