THE ROLE

Do you know how to effectively utilize training to enable behavior change? Do you believe that growth and development is one of the most effective methods to retain top performers? Do you have a passion for leadership enablement?

PlayOn! Sports is looking for a Learning & Development Manager to help us upskill the organization during the growth phase. Our ideal candidate combines the instructional design savvy of an educator with the engaging delivery of an entertainer.

Responsibilities: The position you’ll play

Leadership Development and Effectiveness:

  • Equip leaders with essential skills for managing teams during the growth phase, including proficiency in change management.
  • Offer a leadership development curriculum to aspiring and influential leaders, ensuring a robust bench strength for effective succession planning.


Employee Skill Development and Engagement:

  • Ensure appropriate availability of development resources throughout the employee lifecycle: From successful onboarding of new hires to growth of tenured employees.
  • Collaborate with leaders to design career paths, offer unique growth opportunities to top performers and provide coaching for individual development for bottom performers.


Change Management and Effectiveness:

  • Support change management with targeted skill development initiatives to equip employees with core skills necessary for the growth phase.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of upskilling programs, utilizing metrics such as NPS and real-life performance data.


KPIs: The points you need to score for the team

  • Leadership Effectiveness measured by objective outcomes and employee feedback.
  • Attrition of core and top performers due to lack of growth and development.
  • Impact of upskilling/change initiatives on employee performance, engagement, and morale.


THE PERSON

Requirements: The skills & training you’ll need to succeed

  • Curriculum Development: Capability to create comprehensive curriculum and learning materials that align with organizational objectives and learning goals and are tailored to the needs of different employee groups.
  • Facilitation and Presentation: Strong facilitation and presentation skills to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to diverse audiences though a variety of delivery methods.
  • Influential Leadership: Ability to collaborate across teams to drive consensus and buy in on learning & development initiatives.
  • Hands-On Approach: Strong sense of ownership and accountability for learning initiatives with a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: Ability to navigate ambiguity and fast-pace (we’re in growth phase)
