Learning and Development Lead, IT Capabilities

The IT Capability Development Lead is responsible for supporting IT with the skills needed today and for tomorrow by ensuring our people have dynamic learning solutions to develop capabilities needed to execute Aviva Canada’s strategic priorities and to adapt to emerging market needs.
What You'll Do
The IT Capability Development Lead is responsible for supporting IT with the skills needed today and for tomorrow by ensuring our people have dynamic learning solutions to develop capabilities needed to execute Aviva Canada’s strategic priorities and to adapt to emerging market needs.
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve IT’s learning and development strategy ensuring achievement of all critical initiatives
- Deliver the annual learning curriculum to IT
- Develop, implement and update skills assessments across IT to identify existing skills gaps and support resource fluidity
- Support implementation of intern and trainee programs
- Collaborate and support the leaders across IT to implement development solutions that will build technical capabilities and support career development
- Design career paths to provide clarity, objectivity and transparency to grow the technical expertise across IT
- 5+ years of related experience in a people management capacity
- Detailed knowledge and experience in developing organizational learning strategies and learning solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Capability in e-learning design and development (an asset)
- Strong business acumen, coupled with excellent project management/facilitation skills
- Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple initiatives
- Experienced in effecting organization and cultural change
- Able to have honest and tough conversations with peers, colleagues, and senior leaders
- Agile and driven to add value to build balanced business capability and drive continuous improvement across IT
- University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience
