Salary: $145,000 - $155,000 CAD / year

Position Overview:

Director, Talent Acquisition & Organizational Development will play a critical role in leading the company’s efforts to recruit, onboard, train and retain top quality talent. Partnering with the VP Client Engagement & Strategy, the Director will lead the creation, design and ongoing development and implementation of all recruitment and training processes, programs, goals, and objectives. This position will collaborate with leaders, key managers, clients and other areas within the Enterprise Planning and Support to develop and drive talent management strategies. This position is responsible for providing day to day leadership and direction to the Talent Acquisition and Training teams.

Duties:

  • Partnering with the Enterprise Planning and Support Team in the creation and administration of the annual Capacity and Growth Plan for the organization.
  • Providing ongoing leadership to a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, Project Specialist, Training Design and Delivery Managers and Trainers including coaching, recognition, performance management, development, work allocation and communication.
  • Acting as an internal consultant by establishing trust and credibility with leaders.
  • Acting as a sounding board on organizational and people issues and maintaining a thorough understanding of Business Unit leaders’ goals, direction, and business plans.
  • Participating in team meetings with the business as appropriate and providing Talent/OD related input to support and add value to the successful execution of their business plans.
  • Providing coaching, advice, and conflict resolution support to the leadership team on Talent/OD management issues and their impact on performance.
  • Facilitating and supporting change management initiatives across the organization as required.
  • Providing leadership and insight on HR project work as assigned.
  • Developing and executing organization-wide recruiting strategies to source and select high quality active and passive candidates using traditional and non-traditional methods.
  • Working with senior leaders in HR and Operations to enhance organization wide workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
  • Supporting the Operation leaders and Talent Acquisition team in the creation of robust pipelines facilitating a growth-oriented recruitment model.
  • Leading the Talent Acquisition team in the creation of leading-edge orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Developing and growing the company’s employment brand presence through our external web site, external job boards and social media.
  • Establishing and communicating recruiting reports and metrics to identify success measures, monitor and evaluate programs and team members.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and configuration of the applicant tracking system.
  • Leading the Talent Acquisition team in the review/creation of M1S specific role profiles.
  • Developing and maintaining industry relationships to keep abreast of leading-edge talent acquisition strategies.
  • Acting as a Strategic Business Partner on training issues.
  • Meeting regularly with managers and leaders of departments to understand the business outcomes essential for their success.
  • Leading the training design and delivery teams in creating programs that equip staff with the required skills to achieve the organization’s quality, financial and customer service goals.
  • Continually planning, assessing, and evaluating training and organizational development services against the organization’s business plan and the needs of our clients.
  • Creating a corresponding annual training budget.
  • Developing a strategy to facilitate the build out of corporate/leadership development training curriculum.
  • Working closely with the internal communications team, providing a regular stream of relevant employee communication that addresses the status of the organization, new priorities, training information, roll out of programs, and more.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, psychology, industrial relations, commerce or a related field is required
  • 5+ years of experience as a personnel officer or human resource specialist
  • Prior business leadership experience, with a focus on adult learning principles
  • Previous Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) experience
  • Strong knowledge of external talent landscape and current recruiting best practices
  • Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate team members and facilitate individual work styles
  • Track record of developing successful client relationships/business partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately
  • Comfortable managing a decentralized team
  • Exceptional problem solver with ability to think on their feet
  • Strategic Thinker, able to serve as key resources to VP Enterprise Planning and Support and other members of Senior Leadership Team
  • Demonstrated Business Acumen and comfortable representing Enterprise Planning and Support on a leadership team
  • Ability to execute quality in a very fast paced entrepreneurial environment
