We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Learning Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to students enrolled in Moodle computer courses, focusing on IT support and information technology. The Learning Coach will play a vital role in facilitating student success by offering assistance with technical challenges, providing mentorship, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to high school students enrolled in Moodle computer courses, specializing in IT support and information technology.
- Assist students in navigating Moodle course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to students encountering challenges with software, hardware, or online learning platforms.
- Collaborate with teachers and instructors to ensure course materials align with student learning objectives and technological requirements.
- Conduct one-on-one or small group sessions to reinforce course content, clarify concepts, and address student questions or concerns.
- Tutor students in Digital Technology and Innovation, Grade 10 (ICD2O) and Computer Engineering Technology, Grade 11 (TEJ3M), providing guidance and support in understanding course content, completing assignments, and preparing for assessments.
- Monitor student progress and performance, providing feedback and guidance to promote academic growth and success.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and support provided.
- Stay informed about developments in IT support and information technology, incorporating relevant updates and advancements into coaching practices.
- Assist in the development of resources, tutorials, and workshops to enhance student learning and technology proficiency.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, participation, and self-directed learning.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external stakeholders to ensure students receive comprehensive support and resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or related field.
- Previous experience in IT support, information technology, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Moodle or similar learning management systems.
- Strong technical skills and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Passion for education and supporting student success.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
