Investigo are proud to be exclusively partnering with The Photographers' Gallery in the appointment of a newly created People & Culture Manager position. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's most respected visual arts organisations and play a key role in shaping its people strategy during an exciting period of organisational and cultural evolution.
The Photographers' Gallery, the UK's leading public gallery dedicated to photography, is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to establish and lead its in-house HR function for the first time. Reporting directly to the Director, you will have the opportunity to build and embed people practices that support a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace while helping guide the organisation through a period of change and transformation.
This broad generalist role will see you take ownership of employee relations, recruitment, performance management, organisational development, policy creation, compliance, learning and development, and HR operations. Acting as a trusted adviser to managers and employees alike, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, influencing both day-to-day people matters and long-term organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders to support cultural change, develop HR policies and processes, manage complex employee relations matters, oversee recruitment and onboarding, and help foster an inclusive working environment that reflects the Gallery's values. You will also support organisational initiatives relating to EDI, safeguarding, staff engagement, GDPR and governance activities.
We're looking for a confident and pragmatic HR professional who thrives in standalone environments, enjoys building trusted relationships and can balance empathy with sound judgement. You will bring strong UK employment law knowledge, experience across the full employee lifecycle, and exposure to organisational change, restructures or transformation projects. CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent experience, is desirable.
