We're looking for an experienced Director of Learning & Development to build and lead a best-in-class learning function that elevates every stage of the employee experience. This role is heavily focused on retail operations, partnering closely with Retail Leadership to develop high-performing store teams while also driving key learning initiatives across our corporate organization.

What You'll Do
As the Director of Learning & Development, you'll own the strategy, design, implementation, and measurement of learning programs that support business performance, leadership growth, and employee engagement across North America.
Retail Learning & Performance
- Develop and execute the company's retail learning strategy across all stores.
- Build scalable onboarding programs for Sales Associates, Visual Merchandisers, Supervisors, Assistant Store Managers, and Store Managers.
- Design leadership development pathways that prepare high-potential talent for promotion.
- Partner with Retail Operations to continuously improve SOPs, operational training, and execution standards.
- Create engaging learning materials that drive conversion, product knowledge, styling, customer experience, and selling to increase units per transaction, and customer loyalty.
- Develop training that supports new store openings, seasonal hiring, and expansion initiatives.
- Standardize best practices across stores while maintaining flexibility for business needs.
- Conduct store visits to assess learning effectiveness and identify development opportunities.
Leadership Development
- Create and facilitate leadership workshops for emerging and experienced leaders.
- Build manager capability in coaching, performance management, feedback, accountability, and talent development.
- Design succession planning and internal mobility programs.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to address performance trends through targeted development solutions.
Corporate Learning
- Support onboarding and professional development for corporate employees.
- Design learning experiences that strengthen cross-functional collaboration and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with department leaders to identify capability gaps and create development plans.
- Support company-wide initiatives around culture, leadership, communication, and employee engagement.
Learning Design & Innovation
- Develop modern blended learning experiences using instructor-led training, eLearning, video, microlearning, job aids, AI tools, and digital resources.
- Create facilitator guides, participant workbooks, SOPs, playbooks, and learning assets.
- Leverage AI to improve learning design, content creation, and knowledge management.
- Maintain learning libraries and ensure training materials remain current and aligned with business priorities.
Business Partnership & Strategy
- Serve as a strategic partner to Retail Leadership, Operations, HR, and Executive Leadership.
- Align learning priorities with company objectives and growth initiatives.
- Measure training effectiveness through KPIs, assessments, operational metrics, and business performance.
- Present learning insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of Learning & Development experience.
- 5+ years leading learning initiatives within a multi-unit retail organization.
- Experience supporting fast-growing, high-volume retail brands.
- Strong instructional design and facilitation experience.
- Proven experience building leadership development programs from the ground up.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience using learning technologies, LMS platforms, and AI-enabled learning tools.
- Willingness to travel regularly to stores throughout North America.
