Job Description
Training Specialist create, plan, and provide training for the new product programs. They help design and develop training materials, such as lessons, assessments, and visual aids, to help associates learn and understand the material. Continually improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of associates. Training programs may be conducted in a classroom, in a laboratory, in the production floor, or online. They also facilitate classroom discussions, run lab work, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide feedback to associates. They collaborate with stakeholders, and subject matter experts, maintaining up-to-date course content and track associate progress.
Responsibility
- Strategy & Architecture: Design, standardize, and continuously improve end-to-end training strategies, curriculum paths, and learning materials aligned with business needs and new product launches.
- Modern Learning Methodologies: Apply Adult Learning Theory, blended learning, and robust eLearning capabilities (webinars, videos, on-demand modules) to ensure high job-site knowledge transfer.
- Stakeholder & SME Partnership: Consult closely with business leaders and Subject Matter Experts to capture feedback and customize learning programs that drive team performance.
- Team Leadership & Trainer Development: Lead, recruit, and evaluate a team of instructors while implementing a formalized Train-the-Trainer (TTT) certification program.
- Hands-on Delivery: Directly deliver technical training, explain complex operations, and clearly demonstrate procedures to frontline operators.
- Operations & Academy Management: Oversee Technical Training Academy learning centres, manage the training budget, maintain equipment/facilities, and coordinate company-wide training calendars.
- LMS Administration: Leverage the Learning Management System (LMS) to house, deploy, and track global initiatives, enrolments, and certification pathways.
- Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain meticulous training records to ensure 100% compliance with internal/external audits, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize skill assessment tools and post-training feedback to evaluate effectiveness, identify weaknesses, and drive continuous program evolution.
- Internal Marketing: Promote training benefits and opportunities across all company departments to encourage active employee participation.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing people and training.
- Professional Foundation or Degree level in Education, training or industry related discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience with manufacturing related environment.
- Good time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and presentation software and media equipment.
- Knowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
- Exceptional organization skills, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platforms.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyse data.
- Ability to evaluate needs and present effective learning and performance solutions.
- Level of analytical ability is required to find solutions to difficult human, technical and administrative problems.
- Ability to motivate, influence and coach individuals who do not have a direct reporting relationship to you.
- Experience in public speaking, oral presentations, and delivering technical content in an engaging manner.
- Knowledge of proven training approaches, as well as the technology to support training.
- Experience designing technical lab environments to support technology topics would be desirable.
- Experience partnering with senior leadership to build and drive compelling strategies, be it Training or operational, to align with business objectives, and growth needs.
- Experience in the engagement and management of Subject Matter Experts to support an effective training delivery model.
- Experience with Learning & Development, specifically learning architecture and systems, learner development frameworks, instructional and learning methodologies.
- Familiarity with learning tools that enhance blended learning experiences.
- Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, Oracle) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies.
