Position Scope:
The Manager, Organizational Development and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) plays an important role in supporting a high-performing, inclusive workplace by advancing initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, team effectiveness, and equitable workplace practices.
This role will report to the Senior Director, Talent Management & Organizational Development and will work closely with Human Resources and internal partners/stakeholders. This role contributes to organizational development initiatives and helps implement the organization’s EDI strategy.
The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Diversity Council and Sustainability Committee, to support a respectful and inclusive culture aligned with the organization’s values and business priorities.
This role is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at the head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Organizational Development and Culture
- Partner with the Senior Director, Talent Management & Organizational Development on the design, implementation and rollout of organizational development (learning) initiatives.
- Collaborate and contribute to company and department initiatives that support organizational change, culture development, and employee experience across the organization.
- Contribute to the design and development of learning content related to inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, anti-racism and compliance.
- Support the rollout and maintenance of organizational development training programs.
- Support the development of tools and resources that help managers build inclusive and high-performing teams.
- Integrate inclusive practices into programs, workshops, and learning resources.
- Partner with the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture on the rollout of engagement survey with client groups – continuing to build on strong organizational culture and implement employee engagement strategies.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
- Support the advancement of the organization’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy by helping identify and propose priority focus areas aligned with business objectives and organizational values.
- Co-lead the organization’s Diversity Council and coordinate the activities and initiatives of this employee volunteer group to advance inclusion and engagement.
- Partner with the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture to prepare required compliance reporting related to equity, diversity, and accessibility (e.g., accessibility reporting).
- Collaborate with the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture to prepare diversity updates and reports for senior leadership and the Board.
- Participate as a member of the Sustainability Committee and contribute to initiatives that align sustainability and inclusion priorities.
- Work with internal partners to review organizational policies, practices, and procedures through an equity lens to identify potential barriers and support more inclusive practices.
- Partner with the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture to provide input into external events, programming, and screenings that support EDI and culture initiatives.
Data, Reporting and Insights
- Monitor and analyze relevant people metrics, including employee engagement, participation in development programs, and representation data where appropriate.
- Use employee feedback and organizational data to help inform program improvements and identify opportunities to strengthen culture and inclusion.
- Support reporting on Learning & Development and EDI initiatives and their impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in organizational development, learning and development, human resources, or EDI-related roles. With at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Experience designing and delivering leadership development programs, culture initiatives, or employee engagement initiatives that further drive inclusion and equitable culture.
- Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, or team discussions.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders on the design, delivery and rollout of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within an organization.
- Strong ability to bring ideas to life, taking them from concept to implementation.
- Demonstrated ability where agility and having an entrepreneurial mindset have been used.
- Proactive, collaborative approach and a strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, communication, time management and organizational skills.
