Situated in New York City, we are partnering with a leading global law firm in the search for an accomplished Global Director of Learning and Development, dedicated to advancing the Professional Development initiatives across the entire Business Services group on a global scale.


This is a unique opportunity tailored for seasoned professionals within comparable global professional services firms. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in evaluating organizational learning needs, crafting innovative training programs, and assessing their impact.

Responsibilities:

As the Global Learning & Development Director, you will spearhead the professional development agenda for the Business Services group on a global scale. This includes meticulous management of the learning and development budget to ensure optimal resource allocation for maximum return on investment. Reporting to the Senior Director of Professional Development, you will collaborate to shape the firm's professional development strategy, tailoring offerings such as team trainings and launching the Business Service Academy to align seamlessly with organizational objectives and enrich employee development.


Conducting continuous needs analysis, you will identify skill gaps and training opportunities within the business services client group. Your role extends to designing, sourcing, and curating compelling and effective training materials and programs, encompassing e-learning, virtual programs, live workshops/academies, and coaching. As the leader of the learning and development team (consisting of 10 members with 3 direct reports), you will set clear goals and expectations, providing guidance, support, and ongoing feedback.


Collaboration with department heads and managers is integral, overseeing the administration of the learning management system to ensure its effective utilization. Furthermore, you will monitor and evaluate the success of training programs using pertinent metrics and feedback, contributing to the enhancement of future initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Organizational Psychology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible learning and development/management experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and administering impactful learning and development, coaching, and executive education programs focused on business impact.


Additional Information:

  • Global travel is a requisite, comprising 10-20% of the time.


Compensation:

Base salary: $275,000 - $300,000, accompanied by a bonus and comprehensive benefits package
