Position Overview
As the Senior Vice President of Learning & Development at [Confidential], you will be instrumental in shaping and executing a comprehensive vision for professional development within member companies. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will spearhead initiatives to conceptualize, implement, and market top-tier professional development programs and courses, driving the industry towards progress.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a tailored training and development strategy to meet members' needs.
- Oversee daily operations of the professional learning department, fostering an effective and collaborative team environment.
- Collaborate with experts and stakeholders to enhance existing education offerings in line with member requirements.
- Identify, develop, and launch new professional development opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
- Enhance training programs based on feedback, industry trends, and business needs.
- Establish a Professional Learning Community to enhance member access to education and career growth.
- Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops utilizing dynamic presentation skills and effective training methods.
- Utilize learning management systems and other tools for efficient program delivery and assessment.
- Evaluate and supervise training instructors to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with the Workforce Development Committee to improve industry workforce sustainability.
- Write industry-specific articles for trade publications to disseminate workforce and training information.
- Promote collaborations with other organizations for relevant projects and programs.
Requirements And Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in developing training programs for groups, with a focus on adult learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Executive skills including vision, strategic thinking, and consensus-building.
- Strong leadership experience in Learning & Development.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and current best practices.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms, project management, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other e-learning technologies.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills to engage various audiences.
- Analytical mindset for evaluating program effectiveness and making data-driven decisions.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across the organization.
- Strong communication, negotiation skills, and business acumen.
