This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) - Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) - Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC) - in Education and Learning Resources Service.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. This experience must have equipped you with the particular knowledge - skills - and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position - and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program - secondary school - college - military installation - or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials - aids - devices - etc. - and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Additional qualifying experience: Deliver staff development and facility training using adult learning principles across multiple modalities (in-person - computer-based). Create - revise - and document training procedures - courses - guides - curricula - and instructional materials. Design and administer training needs assessments - surveys - and instruments to identify educational gaps and required interventions. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) - Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. - if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge - skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) - Combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Duties
- ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION - YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** The primary duties of the position are to provide support work in the field of education - training - and staff development
- The position is responsible for a variety of continuing educational activities
- Directly responsible for the development and implementation of continuing education activities - resources - and services - and coordinating these to ensure all aspects follow established Medical Center goals and guidelines
- Duties include - but may not be limited to the following: Performs work related tasks to coordinate projects for the development and implementation of training courses and/or course materials
- Provides extensive planning and organization - analyses of accumulated data and information
- Provides programing structure and support to all employees' accounts
- Translates business requirements into dashboards - report charts and reports for complex business requirements
- Manages and tracks learners training and learning events while ensuring learning is aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Advises leadership and staff of changes to mandatory and other training requirements
- Recommends and develops requirements to interface with other education and training platforms
- Establishes statistical sampling techniques and accomplishes training/performance trend analysis
- Conducts job task and gap analysis to identify customer needs and training requirements
- Analyzes education program objectives and recommends revisions as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the Education & Learning Department
