CHA Learning is HealthCareCAN’s professional development division and is seeking a Program Coordinator to join the team.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Learning Operations & Student Success, the Program Coordinator is highly collaborative and thrives in a team environment. They provide exceptional customer-centred service, foster positive and respectful connections, contribute to an inclusive and supportive environment, and are committed to advancing the goals and values of CHA Learning and HealthCareCAN.
In this role, you will:
1 - Professionally engage with prospective students providing superior customer service while advising them on programs and courses that support their professional development goals.
2- Support the success of current students through proactive strategies related to retention and completion of their programs.
3 - Continuously look for opportunities to improve operations and the quality of our services.
4 - Customer Relations and Student Support:
- Act as “Director of First-and-Lasting Impressions” for prospective and current students. This includes listening to and understanding their needs, being friendly, informative, and supportive while advising them on learning options, answering questions, and providing assistance.
- Respond to inquiries confidently and in a timely manner, following CHA Learning’s and HealthCareCAN’s values, policies, and procedures, and direct concerns to Program Directors when needed.
- Provide advice and guide students through their program/course by addressing their questions and concerns and connects them with the appropriate person when necessary.
5 - Admissions:
- Guide prospective students through professional development options, using their strong knowledge of our courses/programs, as well as ensuring eligibility, fit and success.
- Review applications to ensure eligibility and communicates the outcome to prospective students. Similarly, work with the Chair(s) and/or Program Director(s) to assess PLAR and communicates decisions to the applicants.
6 - Technical and Operational Support
- Support the development, implementation, communication, and monitoring of education policies.
- Providesfirst-tier technical support to current students while ensuring continuous service and resolution.
7 - Program Support
- Provide support for faculty and advisory committee meetings (e.g., booking meetings, distributing agendas, minutes, technical support, providing updates as required, and following up on actions).
- Provide support and coverage for other coordinators as needed.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma required, preferably in a related field (e.g., health and life sciences, adult education).
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role; supporting training, learning and/or program development, offered via distance/online using a Learning Management System (e.g. Brightspace).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to empathize, be diplomatic and build relationships with students/customers.
- Exceptional attention to time and task management; high degree of organization; creativity; critical thinking; confidence; and maturity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to regularly collaborate, with proven performance in a team-based environment, including but not limited to cultural sensitivity, an ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus, and respect for all.
- Healthcare experience and/or understanding of the Canadian health system is an asset.
- Knowledge of education and adult, online learning specifically.
