Our client, a distinguished South African company within the financial services sector, is seeking a capable Learning & Development Manager to spearhead the design, implementation, and assessment of learning and development initiatives. The role is integral to advancing the company's people strategy, aimed at nurturing individuals to reach their full potential and fostering rewarding career paths.

Requirements:

  • Honours or postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management / Organisation Development, Education and Training (OD-ETDP)
  • Registered Assessor and Moderator
  • 5-8 years of experience in establishing and managing learning and development programs, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Proficiency in implementing learning technologies and systems to support diverse learning interventions
  • Experience in procurement, contracting, and budget management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning and Development Strategy Implementation:
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to align Learning and Development Strategy with organizational objectives and future skill requirements.
  • Implement, review, and update Learning and Development policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Management of Learning and Development Programs:
  • Oversee the implementation of learning and development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Identify and respond to organizational learning and development requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Drive Leadership development initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Establish metrics to gauge the success and impact of interventions.
  • Continuously refine intervention delivery channels to enhance effectiveness.
  • Operations Management:
  • Select and approve service providers for training requirements.
  • Monitor expenditure, manage the L&D budget, and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Oversee analytics, reporting mechanisms, and conduct regular audits.
  • Team Management:
  • Review team performance contracts and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, and advice to team members.
