Title: Subject Matter Expert – Occupational Health and Safety (Sessional)

Job Description:
Oxford College is seeking a qualified Subject Matter Expert to review and provide feedback on the Occupational Health and Safety diploma program. This sessional engagement is focused on ensuring the curriculum reflects current regulatory requirements and industry expectations across Ontario and Canada. The role supports program quality by strengthening compliance and ensuring graduates are prepared for workplace safety responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Review curriculum content and course outlines and learning outcomes
Assess alignment with Ontario legislation including requirements from Ministry of Labour Immigration Training and Skills Development
Provide recommendations to improve alignment with current workplace safety practices
Validate accuracy and relevance and practical application of course materials
Provide written feedback and suggested revisions within established timelines
Collaborate with the academic development team as required
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Health or Industrial Hygiene or a related field
- Minimum of 24 months of professional experience in occupational health and safety
- Strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations in Ontario
- Knowledge of Canadian certification frameworks such as Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals is considered an asset
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Experience in curriculum review or training or adult education is considered an asset
Additional Information:
This is a short term sessional contract with flexible hours. Work will be completed remotely with clearly defined deliverables and timelines.
