Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Careers Consultant to join our Careers Team. We’re seeking a motivated individual with the right skills and experience who are ready to take the next step in their careers. This trainee role offers an excellent pathway to develop the knowledge, practical experience and professional qualifications needed to succeed as a Careers Consultant; all while being supported within a collaborative and forward-thinking team. The training process will include shadowing experienced staff and mentoring to build the skills and experience required alongside completing the Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and Development.
Day To Day You Could Be
- Providing 1-1 impartial guidance meetings to help learners explore their career ideas and create personalised action plans
- Delivering career related workshops covering topics such as UCAS, options and career planning across all levels of our Post 16 and adult programmes
- Working with faculty colleagues to support learners in developing essential career management skills
- Organising a careers fair or engaging with universities to provide opportunities for our learners to find out about the world of work and higher education.
This is a
permanent, full-time working 37 hours per week during term-time based at our Guildford College.
What do you need to be successful as a Trainee Careers Consultant at Activate Learning?
The successful candidate will have experience in a people-focused role and willingness to undertake and achieve this qualification while working as a Trainee Careers Consultant. You will also have the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, employers, and other external partners to assist our delivery of a varied careers education programme. This is a fast-paced position, so excellent time management, flexibility, and the ability to prioritise effectively are a must.
