Learning and Development Lead - Campus Services
About The Role
The University of Bath is home to over 20,000 students from around the world, supported by a diverse and dedicated Campus Services team of more than 400 people. Our teams deliver hospitality, security, retail, accommodation, cleaning, grounds, and student experience services across our campus and city locations.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Campus Services Training Lead to join our HR team. This is a newly created role designed to transform how we develop our people—ensuring every colleague has the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive in their current role and build a rewarding career with us.
As The Campus Services Training Lead, You Will
- Lead and develop the Campus Services Training Academy, ensuring it becomes the central hub for operational training.
- Work with Campus Services managers and leaders to design, deliver and evaluate high quality training for a wide range of staff groups, from new starters to experienced supervisors.
- Develop clear career pathways and training plans to support succession planning and internal progression.
- Create blended and flexible learning solutions—including online content, workshops, coaching, and 1 2 1 interventions.
- Lead all aspects of assessing and analysing training records, reports and management information to identify training gaps and improve service performance.
- Ensure training reflects our values and behaviours, including our “Delivering the Experience” behaviours framework.
- Work closely with the Campus Services Health, Safety and Compliance team to coordinate mandatory and skills-based training.
- Manage a Campus Services Training Coordinator.
This role sits within the friendly and proactive Campus Services HR team, working alongside an HR Business Partner, Deputy HR Business Partner, HR Advisor, and Recruitment & Staff Experience Coordinator and Training Coordinator.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about people development and skilled at delivering high quality, engaging training in a busy operational environment.
You Will Have
- Experience identifying training needs and working with stakeholders to plan development activity.
- A proven track record of designing and delivering training for diverse staff groups.
- Experience supporting managers and teams through facilitation, coaching and development planning.
- Experience utilising online learning solutions.
- Strong IT skills and an interest in process improvement (e.g., SharePoint, Power Automate).
- Experience ensuring training is accessible, inclusive and engaging.
Further information
This role is offered on a part-time basis, Monday to Thursday, 9:00am to 5:20pm, and is a permanent position (0.8 FTE).
