POSITION PURPOSE:
Casa Cipriani is seeking a strategic and operationally strong Director of Learning & Development to lead and evolve all training and development initiatives across the New York flagship property, while building scalable frameworks to support Casa Cipriani expansion.
This role is responsible for defining and executing a holistic learning strategy that drives service excellence, leadership capability, and operational consistency across the hotel, private members’ club, restaurants, lounges, and operations.
The Director will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, ensuring all training initiatives directly support performance, guest experience, and brand standards at an ultra luxury level. This individual will also build scalable frameworks to support future growth across Casa Cipriani properties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Set and lead the L&D strategy across the property, aligning training initiatives with business goals, service standards, and brand positioning
- Design and implement a scalable learning architecture that supports operational excellence and brand consistency,
- Design and oversee luxury service standards programming, ensuring consistency across all guest facing and operational departments
- Partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to identify performance gaps and implement targeted, data driven training solutions
- Lead the development of leadership capability across all management levels, including coaching, performance management, and team development practices
- Establish and manage a centralized Learning Management System (LMS) and digital training ecosystem, including reporting, analytics, and content governance
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of SOPs, training materials, and brand standards, ensuring consistency and accessibility across teams
- Oversee all compliance, regulatory, and policy training, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and audit readiness
- Implement KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure training effectiveness, linking learning outcomes to operational performance and guest satisfaction
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to senior leadership on training impact, workforce capability, and development opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement of programs based on guest feedback, operational data, and evolving business needs
- Support pre-opening and expansion initiatives by building training frameworks that can scale across new locations
- Evolve existing onboarding, SOP, and pre-shift training structures into a cohesive, measurable learning ecosystem
- Translate Cipriani service philosophy and Four Pillars into observable service behaviors and training standards across all touchpoints
- Hold department leaders accountable for training execution and service standards through structured follow-up, audits, and performance metrics
- Serve as a steward of Cipriani culture, embedding the Four Pillars into all training and leadership practices
- Design and standardize daily and weekly pre-shift training programs aligned to business priorities and service standards
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Hospitality Leadership, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or director level role
- Proven track record of building and scaling L&D programs within luxury hospitality or high end service environments
- Strong understanding of ultra luxury service standards and multi-outlet hospitality operations
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing at a strategic level
- Demonstrated ability to design leadership development and succession planning frameworks
- Experience with LMS platforms, training analytics, and digital learning tools
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect training initiatives to operational and financial outcomes
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously
- Professional discretion and presence suited to a private members’ club environment
