We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Learning & Development Manager in our People & Culture Department at our Leamington office.
What You'll Do:
- Partner with business leaders and the People & Culture team to develop and implement a long-term learning and development strategy aligned with Nature Fresh’s business objectives, greenhouse technology, and sustainability commitments.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and people-centered leadership that supports collaboration, accountability, and Nature Fresh’s commitment to Growing People.
- Conduct learning needs assessments by analyzing performance metrics, regulatory requirements, industry trends, and employee feedback to identify development opportunities across the organization.
- Design and implement blended learning solutions; including e-learning, microlearning, virtual instructor-led training, coaching, simulations, and on-the-job learning that support diverse learning styles and operational environments.
- Lead learning initiatives including technical skills training, leadership development, and compliance programs, ensuring employees at all levels have access to meaningful development opportunities.
- Facilitate engaging training sessions both on-site and virtually, while coaching subject-matter experts and leaders to deliver impactful learning experiences.
- Customize learning solutions for employees in greenhouse production, packing operations, distribution, sales, and corporate functions, considering shift schedules and operational environments.
- Utilize the learning management system (LMS) and analytics to manage learning pathways, assign courses, track completion, and evaluate learner engagement and progress.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as time-to-competence, knowledge retention, safety outcomes, and productivity improvements to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Analyze assessment results, employee feedback, and operational data to continuously improve learning programs and maximize impact and return on investment.
- Stay current with emerging learning technologies—including mobile learning, virtual or augmented reality, and AI-enabled platforms—and recommend innovative solutions that enhance knowledge transfer and engagement.
- Benchmark Nature Fresh’s learning programs against industry best practices and participate in professional networks and development opportunities to bring new insights to the organization.
- Manage the learning and development budget and oversee relationships with external consultants, training vendors, and digital platform providers to ensure high-quality delivery and responsible use of resources.
- Lead and develop the Learning & Development team while partnering with People & Culture, Health & Safety, Operations, and leadership teams to align learning initiatives with workforce planning, talent development, and succession strategies.
- Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.
- Complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, Organizational Development or a related field; a master’s degree is an asset.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, training or human resources roles, including at least 2 years of people management or project leadership.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory and blended learning techniques; proficiency with LMS, e-learning authoring tools, video conferencing and collaboration software.
- Strong analytic skills; ability to interpret data, generate insights and present metrics that influence strategic decisions.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching and communication abilities; proven capacity to engage diverse audiences and promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Experience working in manufacturing, agriculture, food production or a similar industry with strict health and safety requirements is preferred.
- Certifications such as ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD/CPLP), SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, CPHR/CHRP or project management credentials are advantageous.
What To Expect:
- Predominantly office-based with routine visits to greenhouse production areas, packing houses and distribution centers; exposure to hot, humid or cool conditions, pollen, bees and pests.
- Adheres to strict health, safety, food safety, and biosecurity protocols; requires appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering controlled areas.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate shift-based training, peak production periods and travel between Nature Fresh sites; occasional evening or weekend sessions.
- Hybrid work environment – a blend of in-person and remote work; must be comfortable delivering training via digital platforms and adapting content for virtual audiences.
- Occasional travel to external conferences, partner sites and professional development events; may involve overnight stays
