Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Leadership & Talent Development, the Learning Specialist is responsible for the oversight and administration of the Learning Management System including user management, organizational management, reporting, troubleshooting, e-learning development, and course communication. The Learning Specialist will also administer the recognition programs managed by the department.
Education & Experience
- University degree in a related discipline (i.e. Business Administration or Adult Education); equivalent education and recent related experience may be considered
- Minimum three years of recent related experience performing similar duties
- Experience in working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and sound knowledge of the fundamental structures and features of an LMS, including working with third party service providers
- Advanced experience in eLearning content development
- Experience with desktop publishing/design and writing
- Experience in graphic design for web and printed products, an asset
- Advanced proficiency using MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Articulate Storyline
- Demonstrated project management experience including effectiveness with concurrently organizing, planning and coordinating operational initiatives with multiple project activities
Positions Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads development, implementation and administration of the organizational learning management system (LMS)
- Ensures integrity of the LMS database including registration, course delivery, and scheduling, tracking of learner's activities
- Develops eLearning courses and performs quality assurance testing on them before they are launched or deployed
- Works with subject matter experts to prepare their material for deployment in the LMS including defining the audience and assignment
- Coordinates and schedules learning events in support of the strategic direction of the department
- Administers the rewards process for bursaries, milestones, and achievement awards
- Coordinates the annual performance learning plan process
