As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated
Learning & Development Specialist to join our Sugar Division in
Malelane. This role will report to the Learning & Development Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) and a relevant technical tertiary qualification.
- Education/Training qualification (e.g., OD ETDP) advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ Sugar Manufacturing/Production experience (essential).
- Experience leading, managing, or supervising teams (essential).
- Knowledge of sugar industry processes, SOPs, and basic engineering fundamentals.
- Passion for training, coaching, mentoring, and development.
- Assessor/Moderator accreditation advantageous.
- Experience in Learning & Development or similar environment advantageous.
- Understanding of Skills Development legislation, BBBEE, SAQA, and SETAs (AgriSETA/EWSETA) advantageous.
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Compile and submit Sugar Production Training Plan.
- Implementation of Sugar Production Training Plan.
- Oversee and track the execution of the plan.
- Maintain skills matrix and drive implementation together with line management.
- Identify competency gaps by conducting a competency-based training needs analysis for Sugar Production.
- Develop training manuals, online learning modules and course materials.
- Develop and deliver professional technical training interventions.
- Assess and/or moderate training interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate training interventions.
- Organise training activities from planning, resourcing, execution, and reporting.
- Ensure the learning record keeping system provides for Compliance audits related to BBBEE, SETA, Skills Development Act as well as the Income Tax Act.
- Correct application of Learning and Development policies.
- Support HR with onboarding of new hires.
- Support the implementation of the Talent Pipeline development initiatives.
- Provide monthly management reports.
- Ensure effective cost control for training and development initiatives within your functional area.
- Oversee SETA funding returns.
- Select and supervise facilitators and training service providers.
- Build strong stakeholder relations
