Learning & Development Manager (12-Month Contract)
Job Purpose
An established organisation is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to define and lead the strategic direction of the internal Training & Development function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building a professional, scalable learning environment, ensuring all programmes support organisational capability requirements, long-term strategy, and industry best practice.
This role is suited to a leader who can move a business from fragmented training activities to a structured, governed, high-impact learning function.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement the Learning & Development strategy aligned to organisational goals and future capability requirements.
- Establish frameworks, policies, standards, operating procedures, and governance structures to institutionalise the training function.
- Act as the custodian of learning quality, relevance, and compliance.
Curriculum Design & Development
Take accountability for the end-to-end learning lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programmes covering:
- Product and service knowledge
- Systems and process training
- Customer experience and soft skills
- Compliance and regulatory requirements
- Assessment methodologies and quality assurance mechanisms
Capability Alignment
- Ensure all learning interventions support business strategy and workforce readiness.
- Embed best practices and modern learning methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback.
Quality & Governance
- Implement measurement frameworks to track effectiveness and return on learning.
- Ensure standardisation and consistency across all training initiatives.
Minimum Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
Minimum Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development.
- Proven track record in establishing or transforming internal training functions.
- Experience developing structured curricula and governance frameworks.
- Exposure to compliance and regulatory training environments is advantageous.

Salary: R756 686 and R950 000 per annum.
