THE ROLE
The Training and Development Specialist researches, develops and delivers in-person and e-learning training in accordance with Personnel Support Programs (PSP) training strategy. Leads working groups in the development of training courses; design, develop, organize, administer and audit e-learning and face-to-face workshops, clinics and courses. Research, recommend, test and evaluate instructional materials and technologies. Recommend, develop, evaluate, and validate processes to measure employee performance against PSP training standards. Research, recommend and implement course content, new technologies, methodologies and practices for training.
Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, or a related field, AND some years of experience in physical fitness administration, physical fitness evaluation, or in a related field
- Current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) qualification or equivalent
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid Qualifications

- In planning, organizing, and coordinating the delivery of physical fitness and evaluation programs
- In designing, developing, and delivering e-learning content
- In research and development
- In applying instructional design techniques
- In officiating and coaching sports programs
- In conducting fitness evaluations and physical fitness training sessions
- In reviewing technical reports and scientific documents
- In planning and conducting presentations and facilitating workshops
- In teaching adults
- In online learning applications
- In designing and delivering physical fitness programs
- In lesson plan development and delivery
- In marketing and communicating training programs

This is a remote position. The employee must reside and work from anywhere within Canada. In accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, by presenting your candidacy for this role, you confirm that you meet this criteria.
As part of the selection process candidates will undergo a physical fitness test (FORCE Evaluation) and must achieve a minimum level of Bronze.
This temporary employment is expected to end December 2026.
