The successful applicant will ensure that our claims and underwriting population have access to ongoing technical development and operational knowledge to support their career objectives. The postholder will also lead a small, yet perfectly formed team that will deliver both our academy strategy and knowledge management strategy.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and guide the learning and development strategy for member facing functions, aligned to business priorities
- Provide training solutions to build skills and knowledge in specialisms such as Protection and Indemnity, Underwriting and Loss Prevention
- Design and deliver blended learning solutions including face-to-face, virtual, e-learning, peer learning and on-the-job
- Work with external partners to deliver engaging learning content
- Lead the Knowledge Management team to ensure access to information and expertise at the point of need
- Work closely with the People & Culture Team to ensure that the academy is aligned to our club wide talent and development strategy
- Oversee the Residential Training Course for our external members, and explore opportunities to offer a wider training proposition to our members
- Support and enable positive change to embed a best-practice learning culture and continuous improvement mindset across the club
About you
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- Experienced people leader, with the ability to support, develop and empower teams
- Successfully developed and scaled L&D programmes across multiple regions, typically with 5+ years in a strategic or leadership capacity
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on programme delivery
- Skilled in in stakeholder management and building productive relationships with senior leadership
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments within a matrix organisation
- Creating online content and managing engagement through a learning management platform
- Practical and proactive approach with the ability to adapt and pivot in changing environments
- Manage external vendors, budgets, and programme delivery with a focus on programme effectiveness and engagement.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- Experience managing global or regional learning portfolio
- Background in professional services or insurance sector
- Professional qualifications such as CIPD, Coaching or TAP
