At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.
About The Role
We are seeking an innovative
Senior Program Manager, Learning & Development to strategically design, optimize and scale the foundational learning journey for new Compass agents. In this pivotal role you will own and revolutionize the end-to-end onboarding experience for Compass agents. In this role, you will act as both a Learning Architect and a Learning Designer.
You will meticulously map and streamline the operational workflows that govern an Agents entry into Compass, ensuring a friction-free, intuitive process. Concurrently, you will conceptualize, develop and implement a modern, high-impact learning eco-system that not only reduces "time-to-first-transaction" but also cultivates immediate proficiency and confident adoption of the Compass technology platform, directly impacting Agent productivity and retention.
- Please note this role is hybrid (in office 2x per month) in our Seattle Hub Office (Bellevue, WA)**
What You Will Do
Onboarding Workflow Architecture
- Scope & Map Workflows: Audit, re-engineer and continuously optimize the operational processes for new agent intake. You will define the logic for how and when learning content is delivered, ensuring "Just-in-Time" and "Just-for-Me" learning that aligns with agent needs at every stage of onboarding. System Learning Integration: Partner with Product and Engineering to integrate onboarding workflows into the Compass platform. You will identify opportunities to automate manual "welcome" tasks to increase scalability and reduce burden on local staff.
- Regional Alignment: Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Managers to ensure the centralized onboarding path supports local nuances without compromising the consistency and quality of the core learning experience.
- Architect the "Path to Production" Curriculum: Design, develop, and iterate on a comprehensive First 90 Days learning curriculum. This includes leveraging instructional design principles to script, storyboard, and produce diverse, engaging content formats such as interactive e-learning modules, performance-support videos, blended learning experiences, live workshop facilitation guides, and job aids.
- Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the central point of contact and lead a cross-functional advisory group (including Sales, Product, Marketing, and Regional Ops) to ensure the onboarding program is aligned with company-wide goals and initiatives.
- Accelerate Tech Fluency & Adoption: Create targeted learning modules focused on building deep proficiency in Compass technology. You will empower agents to not just use, but master our tools to rapidly grow their business, transforming them from new users to proficient platform advocates.
- AI-Powered Learning Innovation: Utilize generative AI tools to accelerate content production, personalize learning experiences, and enable agile update cycles, ensuring our training materials are always current and responsive to product evolution and agent feedback. Explore adaptive learning pathways leveraging AI insights.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Measure ROI: Move beyond simple completion rates to define and track robust learning impact metrics directly linked to business outcomes, such as Time to First Listing, Agent Productivity Gains, Agent Retention (Year 1), and Platform DAU (Daily Active Users) for new cohorts. Analyze the correlation between learning engagement and agent success.
- Learn from Reality: Establish feedback loops and qualitative research methods (surveys) with new agents and local managers to iterate on the programs and delivery mechanisms constantly.
Who You Are
- Experience: 7+ years in Learning & Development, Onboarding Program Management, or Sales Enablement. Experience in Real Estate or a high-growth tech environment is highly preferred.
- The “Learning Creator”: You don’t just manage vendors; you possess hands-on expertise in building engaging learning content using tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or similar. You are also adept at mapping complex learning journeys and process flows.
- Learner-Obsessed: You have a deep empathy for the learner experience (LX). You apply principles of design thinking to create programs that are not only effective but also intuitive, engaging, and respectful of an agent's time.
- Process-Obsessed: You understand that great content fails if the delivery mechanism is broken. You think in terms of systems, triggers, and automation.
- Strategic Thinker: You can articulate and link learning objectives directly to critical company OKRs (specifically Agent Growth, Productivity, and Retention), demonstrating the strategic value of L&D initiatives.
- Adaptable: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where products, priorities and learner needs evolve quickly.
