About the Role
As Learning & Development Manager, you’ll lead the end-to-end learning strategy across our lending and brokerage businesses. Working closely with senior leaders, compliance, underwriting, sales, operations, and adviser teams, you’ll deliver impactful programmes that strengthen technical expertise, elevate customer outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and grow leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Strategy & Planning – Develop and deliver a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory obligations.
- Training Design & Delivery – Create blended learning programmes covering mortgage product knowledge, advice quality, FCA/Consumer Duty compliance, soft skills, sales coaching, and leadership development.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance – Partner with Compliance to ensure programmes meet FCA requirements and support CPD tracking.
- Stakeholder Management – Act as the L&D SME, collaborating across teams to embed a coaching and development culture.
- Performance & Evaluation – Measure programme effectiveness using data, feedback, and performance outcomes.
- Learning Infrastructure – Manage the LMS, oversee external providers, and ensure engaging, up-to-date content.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven L&D experience in financial services (mortgages, lending, or brokerage).
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, and advice quality.
- Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate learning interventions.
- Excellent coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Experience managing competence schemes, CPD, or adviser frameworks.
Desirable:
- CeMAP or equivalent mortgage qualification.
- Experience with LMS platforms.
- Background in both lending and broker environments.
- Leadership development programme experience.
