We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to join our Viceroy at Ombria Algarve Resort. This role will lead and manage the learning and development function to ensure all departments meet their learning goals and contribute to organizational success. Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and initiatives that foster a strong learning culture aligned with the company’s commitment to excellence, luxury hospitality standards, guest and colleague satisfaction, and team collaboration. Support overall organizational growth by promoting knowledge sharing, skill development, and continuous improvement.
General Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:
- Implement the overall training strategy in alignment with business and HR objectives.
- Conduct learning needs analyses (LNA) and develop the Annual Training Plan (ATP) based on performance reviews, departmental goals, and organizational priorities.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs to address skill gaps, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory training requirements.
- Identify and apply best practices in corporate learning, keeping abreast of new trends, technologies, and methods.
- Manage and maintain accurate training records, documentation, and reporting, including regulatory submissions.
- Support, train, and develop internal trainers to ensure effective delivery of learning programs.
- Partner with managers, trainers, and external institutions to plan and execute training initiatives.
- Research and evaluate external training vendors and programs to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor training budgets, costs, and ROI, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Promote a culture of learning and engagement through effective communication, recognition, and development initiatives.

- Experience in management development and soft skills training
- Experience in designing and delivering a variety of training solutions
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Leadership as well as team management and financial experience
- Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment with a positive can-do attitude
- Firm understanding of adult learning theories and principals
- Strong time and task management
- Diploma/Degree in Hospitality / Hotel / Human Resources / Organization Psychology / Sociology / as well as licenses or certificates related to Learning & Development function preferred, namely being a recognized trainer from IEFP.
- At least 3 years previous experience in this function, preferably in luxury hospitality or in a major corporate company.
